Some questions: Rock Cat vs Magnum, Disguised Sniper Rifle

Anyone know the answers to these? 1) If a minion with capacity < 4 & equipped with a Magnum (for example) is in combat with Rock Cat, can they use the maneuver from the weapon to go to range even though they are prohibited from striking with the weapon? Or in a general sense, if an effect prohibits you from using a weapon as a strike, can you still use other effects from the weapon? 2) If a minion blocks an action and then equips with a Sniper Rifle via (inferior) Disguised Weapon, can they use the "set range" effect? In other words, does the minion have to have the weapon when the block is made, or is it enough to have it before the choose range combat step? //Petri

You cannot maneuver with a strike (or weapon) if you can't strike. No. You have to posses the Sniper Rifle when the block is made.
