Is Lazarus' 1R considered 'hand damage', for purposes of damage enhancers and Wolf Claws, and the like, or is it, like, a magic thingee? Jere Culleton (Rush Rules!!!)

No, damage done at long range can NEVER be considered ranged damage, so it shouldn't matter. You can't play Wolf Claws on him at long range and do 1R aggro. You could play Wolf Claws on him at short range and do one point of aggro, but you can do that with ANY vamp! [NOTE: Assumes he gets Protean]. Same with any strike cards. -- Meow!

A vampire that can strike for 1R damage has a strike option in addition to hand damage; cards such as Undead Strength cannot be used to modify that 1R. If for some reason we did include a vampire who could do hand strikes at range, it would say so explicitly. It's a thingee. I was playing with Outcast Mage one game and we got to my opponent saying "Strike: Hand" (too bad it was at long range, eh?), and I said "Strike: .... Um .... er ... zot?" It's hard to tell exactly *what* those mages do (OM, Thaddius Zho and Lazarus all have this magick strike...). | If you've got a hot lead on a new | *--Joe--* | PC game, call the announce line at | js...@vt.edu | ** csi...@discus.ise.vt.edu ** | +-------------------------------------+---------------------------------- "There. Murder of Crows damage is not a strike = undogeable. Lazarus' 1R is a strike = dogeable. -- L.
