I searched on "Sibyl author:LSJ" and didn't find the answer. When do you declare which card you are searching for when you take the Sibyl's Tongue action? A) When you announce the action. B) When the action resolves. Thanks. Jeff

B) When the action resolves. It's so obvious with things like Bum's Rush, I don't see why people don't think it's so obvious with other effects. -- salem http://users.tpg.com.au/adsltqna/vtes/ (replace 'hotmail' with 'yahoo' to email)

Because for cards like The Summoning or Magic of the Smith, you *don't* annouce which card until the action resolves. The difference in card text is clear, but not necessarily obvious at first glance. Sibyl's Tongue (relevant quote): *Choose a card by name*. Search your library for a copy of *that card*, show it to all players, and move it to your hand. [emphasis mine.] The Summoning (relevant quote): Search your library for an ally or retainer. I don't mean to be petulant; I just wanted to highlight a couple similar cards that work differently, and hopefully it will become more obvious to people why it is so. The card text is clear IMO if you read carefully. Ira

Yeah, the "search library" ones are different. But your ashheap, etc, you know the exact contents of. -- salem http://users.tpg.com.au/adsltqna/vtes/ (replace 'hotmail' with 'yahoo' to email)
