Shadow Court Satyr enters play and gets Reality Mirror. Note that
SCS:s text tells nothing about clan requirements. What happens?
a) he gets it but cannot play it because he is not a !Malk.
b) he gets it and can play it happily ever after.
c) something else.

Shadow Court Satyr (Changeling) [Sabbat, SW]
Cardtype: Ally
Clan: Gangrel antitribu
Cost: 3 pool
[Changeling] with 3 life. 1 strength, 1 bleed.
When Shadow Court Satyr comes into play, you may put a combat card
from your hand on him. Once each combat, Satyr may use the ability of
that card as if that card had been played from your hand. If the card
has a cost, he pays its cost in life to use its ability. If the card
requires a Discipline, he may only use the basic ability of that card
as a vampire with a capacity of 1. If the ability would give him
blood, give him life instead.
and
Reality Mirror [SW]
Cardtype: Combat
Clan: Malkavian antitribu
Choose a combat card in the opposing minion's controller's ash heap,
and use the ability of that card as if that card had been played from
your hand (pay cost as normal). If the card requires a Discipline this
vampire does not have, you can only use the basic ability of that
card. Only one Reality Mirror can be played during a game.

c)
He can play it (as you point out, no restriction on playing the card).
However, since only one Reality Mirror can be played in a game, and
the card is only put on the SCS so that he can use it as a strike "as
if played", he can use it, but only once. After use, the card stays on
the SCS, but it is ineffectual.

That's not right - it is a !Malk combat card, only !Malks can play it.
Same thing would happen if you gave it Trackers Mark for instance.
However, I'm assuming it doesn't trigger the 'only playable once thing)
as technically it was just put on it rather than played, so a different
!Malk could still use it.
While on this subject, presumable putting a combat card with an
outferior and inferior means it gets the choice of either (for example,
anesthetic touch, can either dodge or strike for hands and then end
combat)?

Yes. There's no difference between outferior and inferior as far as the
game is concerned.

Yeah yeah... I searched on google and wrote the first answer that was
given. Further reading down the same thread gives the full answer.

Man, that is powerful! Are there any other powerful cheap cards that
SCS can use?

The Anesthetic Touch thing would be a lot more powerful if the
Shadow Court Satyr could use *superior* though... since you
don't get First Strike at the [obe] "hit and end combat" level.
:-)
Absorb the Mind is kinda cool - Dodge at [dom] or ranged steal
1 blood at [myt].
Collapse the Arches would be funny - 4R damage at [vis] - but
probably not that effective since your SCS has to have blocked
a (D) action and get to long range to use it. :-)
LSJ - The text on Collapse the Arches "Requires a ready vampire
who has blocked a (D) action." doesn't prohibit SCS from using
it, does it? Since the SCS plays CtA as a vampire? Or is SCS
unable to use it since it wasn't blocking "as a vampire" when
it blocked?
Could use Conflagration, although the 1-blood cost would mean
you'd not likely get too many 1R agg strikes out of it. But
it'd be somewhat intimidating. :-)
He could Vitae Block to get an optional press at [ani] or
temporarily move 2 blood from the opposing vamp at [obe]. I'm
not sure how useful that would be in practice though.
And... that's all I got.
Josh
we're all going to die out here.

Also, don't forget that a SCS with Anesthetic Touch is still hosed by any long
range combat.
Halcyan 2
still think Earth Meld has the most bang for the buck for the SCS

The latter.
See also blocking and then DWing a Sniper Rifle.

You arent allowed to make a hand strike at long range, even that it would
miss and do nothing???

That's not what he said.
He said that Anaesthetic Touch is house by long range. You can still strike.
So, Concealed weapon + 44 for long, Anaesthetic touch for close...
Sucks
