I recently read the following in the post: [DECK] Silsilla Destruction, "...This deck wins very often, even against Fortitude because you can use "thin Blood" multiple times by restarting combat to reduce your opponent to zero blood, preventing him to use all those annoying fortitude cards..." The thing is, every so often I see similiar statements popping up concerning Fortitude. I don't get it, what's the problem with Fortitude against Quietus, isn't the "damage can not be prevented" on Quietus combat cards effective against Fortitude? Because if not, I have a lot of explaining to do in our group. -Kenneth

The fact is : there is only 3 "non preventable" strike cards in this deck. Basically it's a Immortal Grapple / Khabar Honor (or pushing the limit) strike for 3/4 aggravated dmg you want to do on your targets. So if they have fortitude, they will not be harmed at all. And the deck will be inneficient. Combining Anathema and Thin blood will have a great impact even on vampires relying heavily on fortitude. Capice ? reyda

I admit I didn't exactly study your list, but I have now. I use that TB tactic with Psyche to some extant, but I usually aim for doing more damage in the first round. I'm usually up against Tremeres and want to avoid second round combat, and instead rely heavily on Torpor or burning in the first round using Quietus's unpreventable damage. My group also plays Gangrels and Ventrue with their pesty fortitude, and again I find Quietus strikes very useful and since I'm manouvering around alot the Gangrel aggrevated pokes usually aren't much of a problem, but I like your solution with Disease, good for those Khabar:Honor strikes. Again my main problem is handling those extensive Thaumaturgy blows, so if you have a good solution for taking out Tremere let me know. My major tactic at the moment is sending in some Hidden Lurkers, but the cost of tapping a vampire hurts my defence against those stealthy Dominate bleeders. -Kenneth [ quoted text not captured ]

My major tactic Dodge as your initial strike of any given round, then Blur and play all your toys on the additional strikes, which the Tremere can't generate. -- Derek

But you might want to look closely at Blood Clots against the Tremere. Most Tremere decks use a combination of Theft of Vitae and Walk of Flame. They rely on the stolen blood from ToV to keep them alive until the big strike can drop. With a Blood Clots on them, they can no longer gain stolen blood, and become that much more fragile. And Blood Clots has general utility as well. Here's a question: can a minion with Blood Clots on them play "steal blood" strikes? I imagine they can certainly play the card, but does the opposing minion lose the blood, which then just drains off the opposing minion? David Cherryholmes Prince of Durham david.che...@duke.edu
