Why all the double-postings?

Does anyone know why the amount of weird double-postings here has increased? Like when threads are split... Replies to a deck or report-thread comes in a separate thread. It愀 damn annoying.

[ quoted text not captured ] The double-postings result from new-user mistakes or from server "glitches" (that trick old users, making them look like new users :-). Orphaned replies sometimes result from changing the subject line. Some newsreaders, like Outlook Express, will do this (as part of the "think for you" plan) -- like removing the leading "Q:" of "Q: My Question" (thinking that it is some foreign equivalent of "Re:", I suppose) -- but most news readers can see through subject line changes (and present the thread intact whenever the "References:" line is correct). Now, if a newsreader malforms (or omits) the "References:" header, then there's little to be done to maintain the thread. -- LSJ (vtesr...@TRAPwhite-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep (Remove spam trap to reply).
