Okay, Midget is tapped at the start of the turn The player untaps midget, fails to remember to pay the pool for infernalism. Later in the turn the player recalls that they did not pay the infernal penalty. What is the proper procedure: 1) Rewind as the player failed to play penalty... player can choose to pay penalty or keep midget untapped 2) Paying the pool is optional, Midget is tapped 3)other... I'm guessing 1 but I'm rusty on this on. John P. Winnipeg

[ quoted text not captured ] Correct. Paying the pool is optional, but untapping without paying the pool is illegal.

Although "other" will turn up if too much of the turn has gone on to rewind, at which point you fudge as best as you can. That might well be "pay the pool late, and warn the player not to do it again". I would be disinclined to let the player say, if it applies, "Well, Midget hasn't acted yet, so I'll put him back to tapped" if other minions had already acted and it was too far gone to rewind. At that point, the player has probably extracted relevant information from other players about the state of their blocking defences and so on. -- James Coupe PGP Key: 0x5D623D5D YOU ARE IN ERROR.
