The game doesn't lend itself to them? It sure does! The World of
Darkness is incredibly rich in detail and background. Here are the
expansions I'll predict:
"Player's Guide" based expansion:
Introduces new clans (Assamite, Follower of Set, Giovani, Ravnos) and
new disciplines (Quietus, Serpentis, Necromancy and Chimeristry).
Introduces merit and flaw Minion modifier cards.
"Sabbat" expansion:
Introduces new clans (Lasombra and Tzimisce) and disciplines
(Obtenebration and Viscisitude). Sabbat cards have a "black hand"
logo on 'em, and there's a suite of Sabbat rituals and rites that
affect only Sabbat vampires. Possibly includes the Sabbat Ghoul
Families (like the Adams Family, basically).
"Anarch" expansion:
New individual vampires, new equipment and locations, and lots of
cards that let you just ignore the results of political actions.
"Inconnu" expansion:
Adds new very powerful individual vampires. Adds bloodline (lesser
clan) Salubri and the discipline of Obeah. Adds a couple of effects
related to Golconda. Adds a bunch of intimidation-based cards.
"The Hunters Hunted" expansion:
Consists almost entirely of mortal allies and vampire-hunting
organizations and events.
"Mummy" expansion:
(In the World of Darkness, the ancient mummy "Horus" is peer to the
Methuselahs in the war of Jyhad.)
Adds a new type of *player*, Ancient Mummy, with different rules for
playing cards and being ousted (no Blood Pool). Also, there should be
lesser Mummy Minion cards, which are very weak in combat and die very
easily, but can do some impresive magics.
"Far east" expansion:
Adds vampire clans Gaki and Bushi, and adds Hengeyokai.
Now, all that is just based on the expansions inherent in the original
Vampire setting. If we add the other games based in the World of
Darkness, we get "Werewolf", "Mage", "Wraith" and "Changeling" --
though it doesn't make too much sense for these creatures to be
involved in the Jyhad itself. Maybe all four would be Ally types in
one "World of Darkness" expansion, along with some international
locations vaguely important in the Jyhad (Black Forest, Hong Kong,
Jerusalem, and so on).
