Pre-release Q:

I have a question regarding the pre-release tournaments. It seems like they're handled exactly the same way except for here in Sweden... Some friends of mine attended the SW pre-release in Gothenburg organized by Tradition last year. They told me that they got 1 starter and 3 boosters that you paid and then drafted the boosters etc. Just like it's handled everywhere else. The problem (as I see it) is that after the tournament they didn't get to keep the cards. Only the winner of the tournament got to choose a starter deck as a prize, the rest got nothing. is this really legal or how it should be? I've got the impression that WW sends prizes for the winners AND that everybody gets ot keep the cards they paid for on top of it. Isn't that so? I think think it really sucks they didn't even get ot keep their cards. I mean thei're opened and all, who are else to take care of them? It's not like the store Tradition can sell them, so I suspect the organizer kept them for himself? ANd what about the prizes WW sent (did they send any?). If they sent any surely nobody got anything. Now the same guy who works for Tradition is arraging a pre-release for Final Nights. I don't know if it's going to be done in the same way, but if so I'm going to be pretty pissed :/ I intend to participate in it and I want to keep my cards I pay for if that's how it's handled everywhere else. What's WW's official stance on this? Roger

[ quoted text not captured ] I was unclear on one thing, I was told the last pre-release event costed only $3 so it wasn't enough to cover 1 starter and 3 boosters it seems. Still id on't know why you couldn't just pay for it all and keep your cards, because Tradition doesn't sell single VTES cards and who kept them then? And doesn't WW send the cards for free? Or does Tradition pay for the cards? Roger

Does everyone who arranges a pre-release tournament that is posted on WW's website receive prize support? Because then there should have been sponsored prizes at that tournament, which wasn't seen. A friend of mine won the tournmant and he only got his starter, so I know this for sure. The guy who holds it is even a VEKN prince :(

[ quoted text not captured ] If said VEKN Prince *did* keep the cards, and if they originally were to be given to the players after the event (LSJ, can you confirm this?), then he (that Prince) didn't act correctly. My understanding is, that you always keep the cards from the pre-release event that you got. As stated earlier in this NG, a Prince acting only for his own benefits and not trying to do what's best for the *group* he is responsible for is not living up to his job. Such a Prince could be subject for an Archon Investigation, there have been already some cases where a Prince had to be Praxis Seizured because of his behaviour, lack of action, or his personal request to be replaced. In such cases it's best to send me a private e-mail. Carl Pilhatsch (VEKN membership director) carl.pi...@chello.at

The players get to keep their decks (assuming they've paid for them or the decks were furnished gratis). If WW sends prize support as well, then the prize support should be handed out to the winners.
