Hi all, Hope this question is not too redundant, but Deja won't let me do a full search to see if this question has been answered already... Scenario: I have a vampire in torpor with Vicissitude at superior and it rolls around to my turn and my vamp in torpor untaps like it's supposed to. When my minion phase rolls around, can one of my vamps not in torpor goes to diablerize my vamp in torpor? If so, can the vamp being diablerized play Reform Body to not be burned and gain 2 blood instead? Can a bloodhunt be called on the vamp that tried to diablerize, even if the vampire didn't really get diablerized? Card Text: Reform Body Discipline: Vicissitude Type(s): Reaction Combat Cost: 0 This card can be played as a combat card or a reaction card. Only usable by a vampire being burned. This vampire goes to torpor instead. May be played by a vampire in torpor. Superior: As above, and this vampire gains 2 blood from the blood bank. Thanks in advance! Mari

You can only play reaction cards on your turn. It's not your turn. You can only play combat cards in combat. You're not in combat. Ergo, you can't play the card. Now, if some other Meth's vamp comes along (say, Smudge, who you ignored one too many times) you can play Reform Body, but you have to be untapped to do it. You can then gain the two blood when they try. I *think* that the diablerie is unsuccessful, not unlike them being blocked, so there is no Blood Hunt to be called. -- Pat Ricochet Soul Jar'rn Fool of Atlanta

Maybe a "not" should go in between "is" and "your" in "this is your answer." =) You get the idea, but use <pedant> You CANNOT play reaction cards on your turn. It IS your turn. </pedant> instead. > Now, if some other Meth's vamp comes along (say, Smudge, who you ignored > one too many times) you can play Reform Body, but you have to be untapped to > do it. I suppose for completeness's sake I should say that Smudge "comes along" implies that he is doing so with the intent of diablerizing your minion with VIC. Bedtime! [ quoted text not captured ]

No, since you cannot play reaction cards on your own actions, and there's no combat in which to play it as a combat card. > Can a bloodhunt be called on the vamp that tried to diablerize, > even if the vampire didn't really get diablerized? Moot in this example, but no - Reform Body cancels the diablerie. The diablerist gets no blood or equipment from the victim, gets no discipline card, and gets no blood hunt. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. You can only play reaction cards when someone else controls the acting minion. >You CANNOT play reaction cards on your turn. >It IS your turn. Not exactly. With cards (esp. Madness Network), you can indeed play reaction cards during your turn. So if it's your turn and you finished your minion phase, and your prey now wants to do something funky via Network, you can block and use reactions. I originally thought that deciding who plays actions modifiers and who plays reactions depends on who the acting minion is (as opposed to whose turn it is). But in the case of you diablerizing your own vampire, you would control both the acting minion and the reacting one...LSJ? Halcyan 2

From the new rule book: 2. Action modifier cards: The acting minion can play these cards to modify his action. 5. Reaction cards: A ready untapped minion can play a reaction card in response to an action taken by another Methuselah's minion (an action taken by one of a Methuselah's minions cannot be reacted to by any of her own minions).
