In the old days these cards said things like 'Paralyze as a strike', with paralysation explained in the rulebook. Now they have different cardtext stating something like 'send vampire to torpor and it does not untap as long as it's in torpor'. These effects seem to be the same, as it is what paralyze did. But rescueing a paralyzed vampire did not cost any blood, rescueing a normal troporized vamp costs 2 blood... Does this basically mean these two cards became even better then they used to be? Or did I miss some errata stating vamps can be rescued from these cards at no cost (other than taking the rescue action). //Doc.

[ quoted text not captured ] The cards do exactly what they say they do, i.e. they have changed. Although I think it is a matter of perspective as to being better or not, in the old days paralyzed vampires could not leave torpor by themselves, now they can. David

[ quoted text not captured ] The former. Rescuing still costs 2 blood, even for a vampire who was sent to torpor with a Ring or Stake strike. Note that the vampire also untaps during the untap phase (whereas a "paralyzed" vampire would not untap). -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. It was the "cannot take the leave torpor" action that got left behind, not the untappy part. Sorry for the slip. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. You'd have to get them untapped first of course, but why not? > now they can. Still need to find a way to get them untapped. //Doc.

You mean the cardlist I downloaded in June is already outdated? It says 'and the vampire does not untap as normal during the untap phase as long as he or she remains in torpor' in the cardlist I checked. If it untaps it would certainly make these cards much less strong. The cool thing about paralyzing vamps is forcing people to 'waste' an action on rescueing it. //Doc.
