From the White Wolf website at http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/Preview_BlackHand.html: "All crypt cards are U2. Library cards listed as "U2" are actually interspersed on the common sheet, but occur at the same frequency as a U2 would. Library cards that are listed as "U" are simply found once on the uncommon sheet." Wouldn't it be less confusing to list the library "U2" cards as their "true" rarity? That is, C1 or whatever, and then list the commons as C2 or C4 or whatever they might be? thanks, Josh un-common in-deed

[ quoted text not captured ] Keep in mind that the the "U2" library cards are also appearing in the uncommon-slot part of the booster, not the commons - WW has stated that the boosters are 1 rare, 3 uncommon, and 7 common cards, which keeps it much easier than going '1 rare, 2 uncommons plus either a third uncommon or perhaps a common-1, and 7 common-2's'. Since you're getting the U2 card in an uncommon slot in the booster you purchase, that's what it's being tracked as, rather than basing it on what sheet it's printed on. -John Flournoy

See, here's the confusion. :-) As I read that, it means that "U2" library cards show up in the "common" slots of the booster, but "at the same frequency" as if they were actually U2s like the vampires are. U1 library cards are actually on the uncommon sheet and appear in the uncommon slots of boosters, where vampires usually are. If you're right though, that would kind of make sense. LSJ, can you explain the rarity scheme to us? Josh avis rara

They have the same rarity because you would expect, over a large enough sample size of boosters, to get the same number of each U2s. salem domain:canberra http://www.geocities.com/salem_christ.geo/vtes.htm

U2's are actually inserted on the common sheets, but not on every common sheet. They appear with the frequency that a U2 would appear. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. This is still a confusing statement. I don't believe you could PRINT a card on one or more of the commons sheets and have it come up with exactly the rarity of a U2 printed on an uncommon card sheet - unless you printed enough 100-card "common" cardsheets to create a number divisible by both seven and three. Do you mean that the U2 library cards were printed separately and mixed in with the common cards so as to appear at the same frequency as a U2 in an uncommon slot? That would mean making such a U2 appear three times in every 50 packs, I guess. Fred

A card listed as U1 occurs with a frequency of 3% A card listed as U2 occurs with a frequency of 6% These numbers are given to one signficant figure. The U2 number to 2 significant figures is 5.8% [ quoted text not captured ]
