People often ask how late the strike modifiers (Wolf Claws, Claws of the Dead, Chiropteran Marauder, Body Arsenal) can be played. (Answer: after strike declartion but before resolution is just fine). I'll vary the routine by asking how early they can be played. Specifically, can they be played during the pre-range step? Or must a card explicitly say, "play before range" to be playable at this time? Clearly, the hope is to draw one of the pre-range cards (Torn Signpost, Carrion Crows, Drawing out the Beast, Song of Serenity, whatever). Or alternatively, could they be played during the maneuver step (hoping to draw a maneuver to cancel opponent's maneuver - not a very clever use of Chiropteran Marauder I'll admit). As early as you can, subject to card text. > Specifically, can they be played during the pre-range step? Yes, unless card text indicates otherwise. > Or must a card explicitly say, "play before range" to be playable at > this time? No. See also Skin of Night. > Or alternatively, could they be played during the maneuver step Sure. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
