New card text: "This weapon inflicts strength damage as a strike. If more than 1 damage is inflicted on the opposing vampire by this weapon in a given combat, then that vampire is sent to torpor. In that case, this card is transferred to him and he does not untap as normal during the untap phase as long as he remains in torpor" The above sounds like no matter how much damage you do to the opposing vamp and no matter how much blood they have on them, you can never burn that vamp if you use the Wooden Stake. Is this true? Sorrow --- I don't want to be alone | I hurt, therefore I am anymore |-------------------------------- I don't want to be anyone | "What are you looking at...? anymore | you never seen anyone try to I don't need a reason to kill myself | commit suicide before?" - Anon ------------------------------------------------------------------------

The mechanism was changed to one that works more like Disarm or Coma (send to torpor by card text) than it does straight aggravated damage.

Is this true? Well, you could use it during a Dawn Operation, or use it on some Caitiff or Pander who has a burn-me clause, or use it on a vampire chosen for Anathema, but in general it is true, as card text clearly indicates. -- LSJ (vte...@wizards.com) VTES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. Following the thread: do enough damage with it. (It inflicts strength damage, so just increase your streangth to the appropriate level - the victim's blood supply+2, for instance - and strike with the stake.) [ quoted text not captured ]
