Disciplines & Diablerie [LSJ]

If one of your minions has just committed Diablerie and you are pretty sure that a blood hunt will be called to burn that minion, are you allowed to skip the step where you shuffle through your library for a discipline master card to place on the minion in order to save it for some other use?
