When votes such as Archon or Praxis Seizure pass, do you put the card on the vampire, or does the card go to the ash heap? I'm pretty sure that the official ruling is that the cards go to the ash, even though I've seen people put the card on the vamp to remember its new title.. It's important for a deck that I'm working on, with Carlotta and/or the Sargon Fragment to possibly retrieve Archon votes and keep calling them on different vampires. Thanks.

Yuck. Was this an accident of card text or by game design? I can't imagine why you would intentionally make a deckmaster game where bookkeeping is required outside of life totals, when it could be easily avoided. Consider how much simpler the game could be merely by using an alternate rule, and especially since other cards already stay in play instead of going to the ash heap. Oh well, that may be a house rule that never comes into alignment with tournament rules, as I have no desire to require pen and paper for Jyhad games, in addition to the cards, dice, and various blood counters I already need. - Jason Bell

It is a function of card text. I don't have any design information on the base set cards, sorry. [ quoted text not captured ]

The current card text allows for recycling of the card, as necessary, and was clearly the case when cards such as Carlotta and Whispers were designed (i.e. this facet of the card being burned is not something we realised just last week). You'll also find many players tend to keep such cards lingering round for consultation anyway, so that people can find burn clauses etc., and when ash-heap effects come into play, they're fairly vigilant about noting "This is in my ash heap." -- James Coupe PGP Key: 0x5D623D5D EBD690ECD7A1F HEY, MOM! External bookkeeping in this game reaches far beyond these vote cards. Incriminating Videotapes, Canopic Jars, deflected Spying Missions, "owned" Corruption Counters,... there's a lot to keep track of. I don't mind it so much. I was just double-checking, since it's commonly represented by putting the card onto the minion, even though there's no text on the card to reflect this. It is not as big a deal with Praxis Seizures, since it's not likely you'll go digging through your ash heap for a Princedom you already have. But with Archons and Camarilla Exemplaries and Templars and such, it is a significant difference.
