I'd just like a clarification on the text of Maabara. Maabara Type: Master Requires: Harbinger of Skulls Master: unique location. You may tap this location to move a card from your ash heap to this location. You may use a master phase action to move a card from this location to the top of your library. Any vampire may burn this location as a (D) action. I'd just like to make sure that the "card moved from the ash heap" can't be a vampire card. It doesn't specify, but I'd figure that it's important to clarify this, since it causes all kinds of problems if you have a vampire in your hand. :) Ankur Gupta Prince of West Lafayette

[ quoted text not captured ] My guess is that you can, uselessly, put a crypt card on Maabara, but cannot move it to your library. According to: http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/browse_thread/thread/d8d4e82066732fb/543b30690cb542fb?lnk=st&q=%22Kaymakli+Nightmares%22+group%3Arec.games.trading-cards.jyhad+author%3ALSJ&rnum=3&hl=en#543b30690cb542fb Library cards (like embrace) that somehow get shuffled into crypts are sent to the ash heap instead. I suspect something similar happens here. John

[ quoted text not captured ] Does that count as an official clarification/errata/whatever in the sense that it would be noted as such on the card list? [ quoted text not captured ]

LSJ

[ quoted text not captured ] I've updated my copy of the source card text list. The next web update will reflect that, yes.

[ quoted text not captured ] In that thread, LSJ states that library cards cannot be in the crypt and vice-versa. But I wonder... What if I want to put a crypt card on Maabara just to avoid some (admittedly cornercase) situations such as: - my predator controls Yong Sun (whichever version has the +bleed bonus for vampires in its prey's ash heap) - someone is playing Necromancy and I know he/she has a Daemonic Possession at hand (and my vampire was burned since last turn blah blah) - someone has a Vulture's Buffet, Lifeless Tongues, Emergency Rations or whatever card that takes advantage of a burned minion and I don't want the player to target my vampire with it for whatever reason Maabara's card text allows me to put the crypt card in it, right. But some examples in the thread above mentioned things like Banishing an Embrace card and then playing, say, Kaymakli Nightmares to return vampires in the uncontrolled region to the crypt. LSJ said it just makes the Embrace card go to the ash heap instead. Doesn't it suggest that I *could* try to move the the crypt card on Maabara to the top of the library, but it just goes to the ash heap instead? Not much of an issue since one can stack as many cards on Maabara as he wants, but just want to be sure that effects that make cards go to a place where they do not belong can be played/called upon or not. Maybe I want to use Maabara to protect a vampire from the cornercase situations above, and once the potential threats to that vampire's "well being" are out of the game, I could want the crypt card back to the ash heap to play Possession, or whatever. Is it possible at all? Fabio "Sooner" Macedo

[ quoted text not captured ] Oh. If any official clarification is to be issued to Maabara, please ignore my last post. Fabio "Sooner" Macedo

Still, a general ruling like the Kaymakli one (in reverse) would prevent it from being immediately necessary on this or future cards. John
