I'm sure this card has been discussed here before but I'd like some opinions which I can print of and use as a definitive reference. If someone plays Flesh of Marble then how is the damage resolution defined and resolved? Last night someone played Flesh Of Marble, and was then in receipt of 1 agg hand damage strike and 1 Drawing out the Beast (sup) damage. Which damage is prevented, and which is taken? If someone were to play multiple strikes at a minion with Flesh of Marble, then how is the damage resolution handled? Thanks in advance for your responses Regards, Mike Nudd VEKN Prince of London mi...@vekn.org.uk

To the best of my knowledge, and I'm kind of handwaving here: All damage is held in abeyance until the end of the round. At round's end, the Fleshy minion's controller picks 1 point of damage from the available gamut to take. All the rest is prevented (unless some of it is agg and Flesh was played at inferior, in which case all the non-agg is prevented). I don't know how this interacts with Taste of Vitae. Poorly, I suspect. I await further input from On High. gomi -- i haul the burden for the high and mighty but i'm the top hat devil's son i've got the luck of the drunk, try an' nail me i'm the bullseye - aim your gun

Each damage resolution phase resolves in turn. During the first such phase, 1 point of damage is taken by the vampire. At basic, all other non-aggravated damage is prevented after that first point is taken. At superior, all other damage after the first is prevented. > Last night someone played Flesh Of Marble, and was then in receipt of > 1 agg hand damage strike and 1 Drawing out the Beast (sup) damage. > Which damage is prevented, and which is taken? During the strike resolution phase, the vampire takes the 1 agg, then, having taken 1 damage that round, he would prevent the 1 damage from the Drawing out the Beast during the press phase, except that he cannot prevent the damage from DotB. In this case, the vampire will take 2 damage that round that is unaffected by the Flesh of Marble. > If someone were to play multiple strikes at a minion with Flesh of > Marble, then how is the damage resolution handled? One point of damage is taken during the 1st strike resolution, and all further damage is prevented. Card Text: Flesh of Marble [Jyhad, V:TES] Cardtype: Combat Discipline: Protean Only usable before range is chosen. If the vampire takes [(and does not prevent)] more than 1 damage in a round, excess damage is prevented, although aggravated damage cannot be prevented. This lasts for the duration of the combat. (S) As above, but aggravated damage can be prevented. Drawing Out the Beast [Jyhad, V:TES, SW] Cardtype: Combat Discipline: Animalism Only usable before range is determined on the first round. During this combat, opposing vampire gets +1 strength, but he or she cannot use maneuvers to maneuver to long range, cannot use presses to end combat and cannot use equipment. A vampire may play only one Drawing Out the Beast each combat. (S) As above, and the opposing vampire takes 1 damage during the press step each round. This damage cannot be prevented. Carpe Noctem.
