Hi all, First of all, hope you are enjoying your sabbat war. This came up after reading the excellent rulebook. There is in no way any mention of the NRA rule. Now is it *only* a tournament rule, and not part of the VTES rules. Now I can understand a couple of reasons for not including this in the rules, as there seem to be no cards in SW where the NRA would apply. still it is an important ruling/rule. what's the deal. Furthermore kudos to WW for mentioning this forum in the booklet! It has always been only a tournament rule - it has never been a part of the base rules. (Note: it is only a *constructed* tournament rule, it doesn't apply to limited tournaments like sealed and draft). -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Majesty and Freak Drive, to name a few, now are much more important to get in those formats. This is not a good thing. Sorrow --- "This is my costume. I'm a homicidal maniac. You knew that, perhaps. But I'd be willing to wager that a large number of people didn't. And for those people (including me) both are going to be much more sought after than they were previously. True enough -- not many people realized that NRA didn't apply to draft/sealed. But it's not like this is a recent rules change, just an obscure existing rule that's been given wider dissemination. Any player alert enough to notice the situation (not meant as a slam on anyone's alertness -- I'll be the first to agree the thing was pretty obscure) could have exploited it in the past. Also, neither Majesty nor Freak Drive is in Sabbat War (which I would think will account for most of the sealed tournament activity at least for a while). In fact, the only offensive (useful on your own turn) untap in Sabbat War is Patronage, and that's limited to one a turn by card text. And even in VTES/Jyhad sealed/draft tournaments, there are usually few enough Majesties, Freak Drives, etc (in my experience) that they're not very abusable via repeating actions anyway. Well, except maybe Patronage, (1 pool, +1 stealth !Tories only, untap a younger !Tory and this !Tory, 1 per turn) which is kind of a 1 pool clan based freak drive that you can block. (Affectionately called "Group Hug" in our playgroup.) Hardly broken, but it does allow repeat actions. -- Pat Ricochet Soul Jar'rn Fool of Atlanta
