These all came up during games tonight: 1) We know that action modifiers can be played after the decision to block or not to block is made, but it's also been specifically stated for bleed modifiers. Q: Does this include bleed modifying cards which are actions in and of themselves? EG, Computer Hacking and Social Charms. I say that they must be played as the action taken - IE before the blocking decisions can be made - but was overruled. 2) Hunting Grounds. What's the final word? I say that an individual HG can only be used once per turn and that a specific vampire can only gain the blood from 1 HG per turn, although if multiple HG's are in play then more than one vamp can gain HG blood. [Say the Asylum and Zoo HG's are out then 2 vamps can get 1 blood each] The others believe that only 1 HG can be used per turn - much like the Investments. 3) Is the blood gained from controlling the Edge automatic? IE if you move on to your master phase without specifically stating that you're taking the blood do you lose it? I'm of the opinion that it's like an upkeep event in Magic - you can't forget it and must take the blood. The others say otherwise. (Admittedly, I'm wavering on this one, but not the other 2 situations) I don't mind if anyone else answers these, but I'd definately prefer Tom to answer - his statements carry quite a bit of weight around here when I can provide a printout (or just a textfile :) with his headers on it... :] -- * Check out this URL for some links I like to use. * * http://www.cfn.cs.dal.ca/~aa343/Profile.html *

Your action is either "bleed", "Computer Hacking", or "Social Charm" (or whatever else). You can't choose just "bleed" and change your mind later on, for example. > 2) Hunting Grounds. It's automatic, so you should back up and take the blood. Tom Wylie rec.games.trading-cards.* Network Representative for aa...@cats.ucsc.edu Wizards of the Coast, Inc.

The bleed type contains (among others) Computer Hacking, Social Charm, Night Moves, Cat Burglary, and Bleed. When you choose to do a bleed type action, you announce the action (I Bleed you, or I Computer Hack you). Action modofiers that mention increased bleed work on bleed type actions. The action is announced very first thing, so it can't be hidden, but modifiers can. | If you've got a hot lead on a new | *--Joe--* | PC game, call the announce line at | js...@vt.edu | ** csi...@discus.ise.vt.edu ** | +-------------------------------------+---------------------------------- "Carnivores, oy!" -- Timon, TLK

As Computer Hacking and Social Charm are both *actions*, and not modifiers, they must be declared as you are doing them. You cannot say "My minion is attempting to bleed you," have your prey decline to block, and then throw down a Computer Hacking. You declared your action (a generic, no-card bleed) when you said the above. > 2) Hunting Grounds. What's the final word? What the card text means is that a specific vampire can gain only one blood from a hunting ground per turn. If you have more than one hunting ground, more than one vamp can gain from them. > 3) Is the blood gained from controlling the Edge automatic? If you forget your master turn, tough cookies, but the Edge wee'll let you go back for. This is probably a house-rule that you'll need to decide on. > I don't mind if anyone else answers these, but I'd definately prefer >Tom to answer - his statements carry quite a bit of weight around here >when I can provide a printout (or just a textfile :) with his headers on >it... :] I wish my group felt the same way; sometimes I have to fight tooth and nail to get them to accept some of the rulings. -bopo k93...@hobbes.kzoo.edu "Pretty rowdy behavior for Jesus.
