Jyhad Questions

This is about the Jyhad card "Trap". Does this card mean: 1) Three rounds of combat pass in which NO CARDS may be played or 2) Combat doesn't end UNTIL three rounds have passed in which no cards HAVE BEEN played? Thanx! -- Nicholas J.
