WPG and Ro" [LSJ]

I attempt to use the White Phosphorous Grenade, and then play Rotscrheck. Do I retain the WPG, or does it burn. Since we never got to strike resolution, I could see an argument for the WPG not burning. Thanks in advance LSJ, you do the work of the ten men!
