Normally if you use a maneuver from a weapon you must strike with that weapon as your next strike. Can Primal Instincts be used to allow you to choose a strike other than a weapon whose maneuver you have already used? Vast Wealth is worded (more or less) as follows: "...the minion can now equip with the first piece of equipment you find in your library..." Is the action being taken to search your library, or to equip with the equipment found? In other words, is blocking declared before or after the equipment is located. This difference is very important to the use of the card.

No. It will cancel the chosen strike and allow you to choose a new strike, but that new strike still cannot be anything except the weapon strike. Revised Rulebook, 6.4.3: 1. Choose Strike. Each minion chooses his strike. The strike can be from a combat card, from a weapon the minion possesses, or (the default) a hand strike. If a minion has used a maneuver from a strike (either a strike card or a weapon) this round, then he cannot choose any other strike for his initial strike of the round. For additional strikes, any strike can be chosen, even if a maneuver had been used. Just like Primal Instincts cannot be used during an Immortal Grapple to change from a required hand strike to some other non-hand strike, since Grapple still requires a hand strike. > Vast Wealth is worded (more or less) as follows: > "...the minion can now equip with the first piece of equipment you find in > your library..." > Is the action being taken to search your library, or to equip with the > equipment found? Vast Wealth - Master * Grants the ability to take an action, namely: to search through the Library for an equipment card. [TOM 950119] * You only search your library if the action is successful.
