I was looking through some of the old errata, rulings, and clarifications. It states there that if a retainer is brought into play by any method other than "Employ Retainer" then the retainer is brought in at the basic level of the card. If this is true then If Howler who has superior Animalism used Muricia Call at Superior to get a Raven Spy out of his library. Then that Raven Spy would only have 2 life (1 for basic Animalism and 1 extra for Muricia's Call). Is that correct, even though Howler has superior Animalism? Comments Welcome, Norman S. Card text: "This vampire employs that retainer", so the action is an "employ retainer" action. The ruling on actions that are not "employ retainer" actions doesn't apply. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
