1. If 2 vampires have contested weapons, do just the weapons
get turned over? Is the blood paid by the vampires as in
contested titles? What if an ally controls the weapon? Does
it lose life points?
2. Can a minion take equipment from a vampire in torpor by
just doing an equip action?
3. Can contested cards belonging to minions be taken by
other minions using equip actions?
4. Is it proper to say that a contested card is out of play?
5. What's the deal with that FAQ question about contested
location cards? I don't understand it at all!

I've never seen a unique piece of equipment. Could you give an example?

Sengir Dagger - 1 aggravated damage - mods are aggravated too.

The only one I've seen is called the Rowan Ring. Cool card, but frankly
most of the time I'd prefer a .44 magnum (especially considering the
artwork).

Bleah. I suspect they would follow the same rules as contested titles,
i.e., the vampire equipped with the Razor (or whatever) would be
paying the blood. I am checking on that. I suppose it's too much to
hope for that all the unique equipment is only usable by vampires? ;)
>2. Can a minion take equipment from a vampire in torpor by

Hm. I suspect the only thing you can do to a vampire in torpor is
encounter it there (i.e., either rescue or diablerize it)... the second
option would be one way of getting its equipment ;) The equipping rules
don't say one way or the other, so I'll find out what the rule is.
>3. Can contested cards belonging to minions be taken by

Contested cards are essentially unusable, so no.
>4. Is it proper to say that a contested card is out of play?
Pretty much.

Wow. What it's saying is that first, they follow the same rules as
for contested vampires (can't use them, pay pool during untap, etc.)
Second, if a vampire can take a directed action to burn that location
(say, with Arson), then *all* instances of that location are burned,
and the action cannot be blocked due to the locations being uncontrolled.
Unsure whether Unnatural Disaster would burn all of them, but it makes
sense that it would... Will check on that too.

Contested weapons are handled just like contested cards, so the weapons
are turned over. They aren't titles, so the blood comes from your pool.
An ally's owning the weapon doesn't alter how the contested weapon is
handled.
>5. What's the deal with that FAQ question about contested

You're talking about that second sentence referring to burning the
location with a directed action, right? I finally figured out what they
mean: if someone uses Arson--a directed action card which burns a
Methuselah's location--to burn a contested location, all cards contesting
that location are burned. The location is contested and hence
uncontrolled, so no one can block the action, and the contesting cards
collectively represent a single location.

It would seem to me that the rules on contested cards are unambiguous
in this case. The rules on contested titles are specific to titles and
should not apply. Note that the rules on contested cards state, "If
two unique cards of the same type come into play..., the cards are
both placed face down and are considered contested. You pay..." This
indicates fairly clearly that a unique weapon that was contested would
be turned over and contested by the Methuselahs's, but other than
losing the weapon this should have no effect on the minion who was
equipped with it.
>2. Can a minion take equipment from a vampire in torpor by
>just doing an equip action?
The rules state (section 12.3.1, Equip Minions): "If you have a minion
with equipment in play, this equipment may be taken from it by another
of your minions..."
Nowhere in the rules does it state that a vampire in torpor is
considered out of play. So I'd say yes.
>3. Can contested cards belonging to minions be taken by
>other minions using equip actions?
Depends on answer to 4; I'd say no.
>4. Is it proper to say that a contested card is out of play?
I'd say yes, for all purposes other that rules or cards which deal
specifically with contested cards.
>5. What's the deal with that FAQ question about contested

I assume you don't understand this part:
"If someone wants to burn a contested unique location as a direct
action, she is automatically successful, as it is not controlled; all
cards contesting that location are burned."
I'd love an explanation of this part as well, especially with respect
to the answer to number 4.

Ivory Bow - does 1R _aggravated_ damage 8-)

Why would you suspect this? From the rules I've got, it seems clear
that all contested things except for titles are handled exactly the
same way -- the way contested Vampires are.
It makes sense if you think of it as the Methuselah owning the
equipment and simply permitting the Minions to use it. This same
mental model makes the "burn the equipment on it even when someone
else gets the contested card" rule make sense, too.

Only what's in contention gets turned over, so it would just be the
weapons, yes. The cost of contention is always paid from your pool
unless what's being contested is a title, in which case the cost is
paid from the vampire's blood.
>2. Can a minion take equipment from a vampire in torpor by

No.
>3. Can contested cards belonging to minions be taken by

I doubt it.

Contested vampires are, contestes titles more or less are, contested
locations are not. I'm not sure exactly how contested weapons
and retainers work.
>5. What's the deal with that FAQ question about contested

Any time a contested location card is burned (whether by Arson or
Unnatural Disaster or what), all instances of that location are burned.
While in contention, locations are unusable but still "in play".
