Can someone(lsj) maybe post me a list of the clans that are tied to sects?
There was a post that stated that when my camarilla guys clan impersonate
they also pick up the sect, if that clan is generally in that sect(if that's
not right skip the rest, stop here)
So I just wanted to know if my malkavian prince clan impersonated lasombra
would he have to be sabbat(most of them are) or could he be a
camarilla/lasombra(one is)
And also clans Gangrel and Assamite. Gangrel are independents, and
Assamites are Camarilla(if I have heard from the RPG correctly) So...well
forget it, just a list would be cool.

The following are tied to Camarilla:
Brujah, Gangrel, Malkavian, Nosferatu, Toreador, Tremere, Ventrue
Additionally, Caitiff are tied to the Camarilla, but are not a clan.
The following are tied to the Sabbat:
!Brujah, !Gangrel, Lasombra, !Malkavian, !Nosferatu, Pander, !Toreador,
!Tremere, Tzimisce, !Venture
The following are tied to being Independent:
Assamite, Followers of Set, Giovanni, Ravnos.

They do, unless they have another sect changing influence on them.
(e.g. Gitane St Clair carrying a Writ, impersonated to Ravnos will be a
Camarilla member of the Ravnos).

Yes, if no other effects apply.

Do you mean Lucita, who is Independent?
>And also clans Gangrel and Assamite. Gangrel are independents,
No. Gangrel are Camarilla.

Assamites are Independent.
>(if I have heard from the RPG correctly)
The RPG is not V:TES. Such changes, in V:TES, require explicit changes
in card text or card text based effects. e.g. Tajdid mirroring the
curse being lifted in the RPG.

Following that reasoning, a Malkavian who turns Sabbat should be a
Sabbat Malkavian; not a !Malk. If antitribu are truly "separate" clans
from all other clans, there is no reason that changing sect forces you
to be a different clan, only because you have a camarilla clan that is
named the same. Cannot a malkavian be independent or sabbat without
having to implicitly change it's clan?

Certainly.
However, to the best of my knowledge, there is no method of changing
your sect to Sabbat without changing your clan, as there is with Writ.

Changing sect doesn't force you to change clan e.g. a Brujah Antitribu
carrying a Writ will be a Camarilla Brujah Antitribu.
However, if you change clan, you will inherit the default sect unless
other card text applies.

To the best of my knowledge, the only current ways to change your sect
to Independent or Sabbat are via changing your clan and inheriting the
default sect.
There is possibly a corner case somewhere involving a vampire with the
"wrong" sect on their card, because that can get a little trickier to
resolve. (Though it follows all the standard rules on such.)

Right.

In theory, yes. With the current card set, it's not possible to
change sect directly except with Writ of Acceptance, which won't
help in this case.

As James already stated, the RPG and the CCG inhabit different (though
parallel) worlds. What happens in one may be different than what happens in the
other.
FYI: In the RPG, the Gangrel (as a clan) have officially left the Camarilla.
While there still are many Gangrel who have remained in the Camarilla, the
Gangrel clan no longer has clan status there and thus has no Justicar. The case
with the Assamites is a bit fuzzier. It's not as simple as "the Assamites
joined the Camarilla." In the wake of Ur-Shulgi's religious purge, about a
third of the Assamites decided to join the Camarilla (known as the
"schismatics"). What this means is that a lot of Assamites are
Camarilla-aligned. Clan Assamite is not yet really considered part of the
Camarilla and does not get a Justicar (similar to the situation with the
Lasombra Antitribu).
But all of that is in the RPG, not in the CCG (yet)...

Corner case questions:
Tegyrius, Vizier, who is a Camarilla Assamite, Clan-Impersonates
into an Assamite. Does he become Independent?
Lucita, who is an Independent Lasombra, Clan-Impersonates into a
Lasombra. Does she become Sabbat?
Josh "Don't ask why that would happen, I'm just searching for
technicalities" :)
(Reshuffled for the order.)

Yes, if she changes clans by doing so (so she'd have to be non-Lasombra
when she takes the action to impersonate a Lasombra)."
The emphasis is on *changing* clans. When you *change* clan, you
inherit default sect. She didn't change clan, in your example.
>Tegyrius, Vizier, who is a Camarilla Assamite, Clan-Impersonates

As above. So no. (But you could go CI->Something Else, then
CI->Assamite so you change clan and inherit the sect. Or play a CI
after being Deranged etc.)
