/* ** Note to alt.games.jyhad readers: I talked to Jennifer, and we figured ** it was simpler if I just cc the random rulings posts to a.g.j, even ** though she's the NetRep to that group. */ /* ** Rulings which required followups are marked as *CONFIRMED*, *REVERSED*, ** or what have you. */ Deflection is not a misprint. The cost really is paid from your pool, rather than from the vampire's blood. This would, in general, apply to any "methuselah's pool" symbol appearing in the middle of the card... they are paid from your pool, not from the vampire's blood, as costs printed there typically are. If any vampire goes to torpor during combat, the combat ends when that step finishes. This means it would end before any additional strikes could be taken. Anson gives a second, fully functional master action during your master phase. This would allow you to get two blood from Investments, for example. Master cards can only be played on ready vampires, unless of course the card indicates otherwise. Any Methuselah may burn political cards to get votes, including the Methuselah calling the vote. Any time a minion finds itself with no blood on itself and untapped during your minion phase, it *must* hunt as its next action. This is true even if it doesn't get in that situation until the middle of the minion phase (e.g., after being rescued from torpor). When the minion phase begins, you must do all required hunting before taking a non-hunting action. *CONFIRMED* for the umpteenth time Pulled Fangs is only usable at the end of a round, by the vampire which actually inflicted more damage during the round. Thus the use of Fortitude cards, Sidestep, and so on can affect who can use Pulled Fangs. *REVERSAL* of previous ruling resulting from too many icky questions ;) Actions which give you an enhanced bleed, such as Computer Hacking, can still only be directed against your prey unless the card specifically indicates otherwise. *CONFIRMED* and headed for the FAQ... You must show everyone which card you're playing before they decide whether to respond to it; you must for example show them which weapon you're trying to equip a vampire with before they decide whether or not to intercept. The gradual warming up of the transfers available takes place even in a two-player game. The cost for contested cards is always paid from your pool, unless it's a contested title, in which case the titled vampire pays blood instead. Anything which would burn a contested location burns all of those location cards (but would leave other contested locations unharmed). This applies to cards like Unnatural Disaster as well as directed actions like Arson. The only way to get equipment off a vampire in torpor is to commit diablerie. You cannot use an Equip action to do so. Tom Wylie rec.games.deckmaster Network Representative for aahz@hal.com Wizards of the Coast, Inc.

Actions which give you an enhanced bleed, such as Computer Hacking, can still only be directed against any Methuselah. *REVERSED... sorta* There were enough questions about this that they went back to Richard, and the answer that is in the FAQ was confirmed. So yes, can use Computer Hacking to bleed anyone you want. Yes, this means that both abilities on Cat Burglary do the same thing. No, I don't particularly want to discuss this one... You must show everyone which card you're playing before they decide whether to respond to it; you must for example show them which weapon you're trying to equip a vampire with before they decide whether or not to intercept. Look for this to be reversed in the next FAQ that we release... The only way to get equipment off a vampire in torpor is to commit diablerie. You cannot use an Equip action to do so. >The only way to get equipment off a vampire in torpor is to commit diablerie. >You cannot use an Equip action to do so. But you can use an equip action to have one minion get equipment from another minion which is "in play." So, you can get equipment from one of your own vampires in torpor. I assume this is a clarification that you can't encounter another person's vampire in torpor and get equipment from them, since there's no rule that lets you do it. This is one of the things that convinced some of my vampire-playing/ magic card-playing friends that Jyhad was no good. The fact you can easily find a vampire lying under a bridge, but can _only_ suck it's soul out and grab its gun. You can't just grab its gun, or drag it out into the sun. --

Read the rules on diablerie again. If your vampire is in torpor, and I can send one of my guys in there sucessfully, my guy gets his gun and drags him into the sun. Plus gets a skill card if the unfortunate victim happened to be older.
