Hey LSJ, quick question. I always assumed that 3rd Tradition (or The Embrace) kids counted as being the same clan as their progenitor (for the purposes of clan specific cards and the likes of Con Boon), but recently read the card closely and discovered that it didn't actually say this. Is this, in fact, actually the case and it is some old bit of well known eratta? Thanks, Peter D Bakija PD...@aol.com "I want to be cool, tall, vulnerable, and lucious I would have it all if I'd only have this much" -Liz Phair

Like Ragu, it's in there. *smile* Noal Card Title: Embrace, The Card Text: Requires a ready vampire. +1 stealth action Create a 1 capacity vampire. Go through your library, ash heap, or hand to find a Discipline card for this card; otherwise, the vampire remains at 1 capacity. This vampire is not considered unique, must hunt the turn he or she is created, and is the same clan as the acting vampire. Card Title: Third Tradition: Progeny, The Card Text: Requires ready Prince or Justicar. +1 stealth action Create a 1 capacity vampire. Go through your library, ash heap, or hand to find one Discipline card for this card. Move up to 2 blood from the acting vampire to this card. This vampire is not considered unique, cannot act the turn it is created, and is the same clan as the acting vampire. -- DISCUSSION, n. I can only assume that those are the VTES versions of the cards as, well, I don't own an The Embrace (of any edition) and my Jyhad 3rd Traditions say nothing about the clan of the kid (and I don't have any VTES 3rds, either). Stinking reprints... Oh well. Thanks LSJ and Noal. [ quoted text not captured ]

While we're on the subject, vampires created through the 3rd Tradition or The Embrace don't actually spend any time in the inactive region, do they? The card says something like: "This vampire may not take any actions on the turn it is created. Move up to 2 blood..." So...I assume that this means that it just pops into the controlled region but can't do anything. That correct? The Embrace has different text, and "must hunt" on the turn that it is brought into play. [ quoted text not captured ]
