Card Text: Do not replace until your untap phase. [aus][cel] Strike: dodge, and this vampire may prevent 1 damage from a retainer. [AUS][CEL] Only usable before range is determined. This round, this vampire cannot strike, and strikes and damage from retainers have no effect on this vampire and any non-retainer cards on him or her The problem is the meaning of a part of the text : " and strikes and damage from retainers have no effect on this vampire and any non- retainer cards on him or her " The menaning is : "Strike from retaiers And damage from retairners" or The menaning is : " Strike ( from opposinng minion ) And damage from retairners" Thank a lot

i think that this card is good. at superior could nerf immortal grapple for a round, giving the option to strike on the second. high usability on AUS CEL guns. obvious use is AUS CEL ANI but this discipline combination is scarce :S or my english is so bad that i dont understand the card? Bringing in another superior discipline is not a solution... especially when it dramatically cuts down the options for your crypt to a handful of fatties. Far better is to use what we already know we have. So if you want to avoid IG with AUS CEL guns, may I suggest replacing Eyes of Blades with Sniper Rifles (if you're blocking with AUS) and/or more maneuvers (I hear CEL has many interesting flavours for those). Eyes of Blades is probably better used when you're not using guns and are playing combat avoidance. Instead of your star AUS CEL vampire packing maneuvers for IG defense, use a few EoB and you don't have to worry about being out maneuvered (Slammed) or any Murder of Crows that show up. You do have to worry about the fact that it has a DNR until untap... so it's not something you really want to rely on. It's that more than anything that will keep it out of my decks. > > obvious use is AUS CEL ANI but this discipline combination is scarce :S Yeah, trying to combo it with environmental damage is another approach. Still, that DNR is going to get you. Brent Ross

"If all (we) want to do is stop Immortal Grapple pissing (us) off for a round", EoB does that without adding ANI. ANI only comes in to play if you want to use EoB actively as well... it's not necessary for this. Adding FOR to an AUS CEL guns deck to deal with IG doesn't make sense, AUS CEL guns can do that by itself (even without EoB). Brent Ross

This round, THIS vampire cannot strike, and strikes and damage from retainers have no effect on this vampire and any non-retainer cards on him or her "This" is referring to the vampire playing the card. Its a card that basically stops retainers that do damage to you in exchange for you not striking.

It is the same as Bloodform, without the press to end.

Bloodform (at superior) also protects against non-agg environmental damage like Carrion Crows and Weather Control, but does not extend protection to any agg damage (strike or retainer). Eye of Blades (at superior) doesn't stop non-retainer environmental damage, but does appear to stop both damage and non-damage side- effects from strikes (but not from retainers, where it only stops damage). It also stops agg damage (for the damage sources where it'd work on non-agg as well). Brent Ross

Still, i doubt i'd want to play eye of blades...

[ quoted text not captured ] Seems like a good fit in AUS CEL tha/THA decks. But not much else. I am putting one (1) copy in my Aus Cel Pot Quicken Sight Sewer Lid deck to see what happens. I will report back the results. Ultimately, I think what makes this card wallpaper is the DNR restriction. Next untap is too long. End of Minion phase, or end of turn, maybe, but next untap, ouch. Of course, that also means it is much better in interecept Aus decks as opposed to Nose of the Hound Aus decks. best - chris -- Super Fun Cards http://stores.ebay.com/superfuncards/ auct...@superfuncards.com
