It was another crowded tournament in the Jaarbeurs hallen in Utrecht last saturday 02-07-2004 even though it wasn't a sanctioned tournament. 20 players showed up. As usual I will only report on the finals. The following players went into the finals 1 Tobias :Samedi Shamblings. 2 Dietmar :Nosferatu Princes with rush. 3 Paul :Nosferatu princes with third traditions. 4 Emiliano :Gangrel combat with ravenspy intercept. 5 Jeroen :Tzimisce big cap pre vote. The finals didn't really have any fast agressive deck so it started of pretty slow also being hindered by three vote decks. Paul and his Nosferatu third tradition deck managed to keep pressure on Emiliano's Gangrel deck for almost the entire game bringing him down to four pool several times. But since he didn't have a good vote lock he had to get the help of Dietmar and his Nosferatu princes. Tobias and his Shambling hordes also kept the presure on Paul with bleeds for 5 or 6 and rushing him with his Hordes. Paul eventually got stopped by Dietmar who played an Anathema on one of his princes before rushing him and collecting the pool. This gave Tobias an oppertunity to oust Paul and walk away with the only victory point gained in the entire finals. And here is Tobias his deck list. Ahum it was only half of the game. > But since he didn't have a good vote lock he had to get the help of > Dietmar and his Nosferatu princes. Or me(happend several times) > Tobias and his Shambling hordes also kept the presure on Paul with > bleeds for 5 or 6 and rushing him with his Hordes. > Paul eventually got stopped by Dietmar who played an Anathema on one > of his princes before rushing him and collecting the pool. Extaly Emiliano destroyed the prince by blocking. Dietmar never rushed him. > This gave Tobias an oppertunity to oust Paul and walk away with the > only victory point gained in the entire finals. True, but in the last round he was the only one on 2 pool. If I had one more round tobias was dead. Or if I drew the normal cards. I should have let tobias oust emiliano as well instead of playing a coconda on his vamp. This would have given me 3rd place instead of 4th place, but thats minimizing VPs instead of maximizing VPs so I didnt do it. But this might be a lie, I wasn't thinking about maximizing boosters at that time. It was a fun game, altough I couldnt realy do anything until Paul was killed and I had a vote lock.

This is not completely true. it is true that dietmar played an anathema on one of my vamps but it was Emiliano who got the pool. This happend because he blocked my "oust emiliano" action with his top decked cat's guidance. emptyd me with carrion crows superior and a drawing out the beast superior. so there went my chance for a victory point. Dietmar rushed another vampire later on in the game leaving me completely defenseless against tobias who greatfully took the change to oust me. Emile, despite the problems I heard you had when trying to register the event, it is listed as an official event in the VEKN tournament calender, which IMHO means it was sanctioned. The 2/7 event Emile request sanctioning for on 1/26 was approved on 1/27 There was another 2/7 event for which sanctioning was requested by Jesper on 2/7. That request was not seen until after 2/7, so that second event was not sanctioned. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
