Now, it was an important difference in Jyhad, but now that "base hand damage" is gone in V:tES, why should anyone use a Fists of Death when they can use a Torn Signpost for the same effect without the blood cost? John Baker

In article <01bc28b6$9422d180$ed11...@PennState.cac.psu.edu>, [ quoted text not captured ] There is still a base hand damage. Vampires, for example, have a base hand damage of 1. Vampires like Gaspare Giovanni have +1 hand damage, which is usually 1 + 1 = 2. But, you can reset Gaspare's base with Torn Signpost, giving him base 3, which gives him 3 + 1 = 4 hand damage. Fists of Death, however, is +1/+2 HD for the remainder of combat. This makes it stackable with TS. You can play *both* on Gaspare to give him: 3 base (Torn Signpost) +1 special ability +2 Fists of Death ___ 6 hand damage You can also stack as many Fists of Death on top of each other as you want, provided you could pay for them, each giving you an additional +1/+2 hand damage. --Judy -- *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* | Judith Grunberger, Technical Writing Weenie/Intern, McCabe & Associates | | jcoo...@glue.umd.edu * http://www.glue.umd.edu/~jcookson | *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------*

Fists of Death add. Signposts simply resets base hand damage to some new amount. Assuming superior potence: You can play TS and FoD together for 5 (3+2) hand damage. Or, play TS and 3 FoD for 9 (3+2+2+2) hand damage. Or play just 2 FoD for 5 (1+2+2) hand damage. But if you play multiple TS, you're just resetting your base hand damage to 3 each time. -- L.
