I forgot to mention (been offline for a week), at the Caravan tour they had 2 posters of Ancient Hearts cards, with text. Unless Wizards doesn't want me to (Tom?) I'll post what I remember in a few days.

[ quoted text not captured ] Obviously if we thought it was fine to post in public, it's fine to repeat it in public. However, it should be noted that it's highly unlikely you saw final card texts for the set as a whole, given the apparent timeframe. So what is the time frame for this set? And how was it playtested? I appreciated the look at Slugathon for DS but I still remember that all of us who looked at it found several broken cards just on the first pass and brief discussion. Some of our thoughts were proven wrong on more detailed examinatrion and some cards took longer to figure out but that was just too easy to spot broken cards. This game really needs a very solid expansion. Rory

The Settites look really, REALLY evil. The 'curse' is handled with the text 'cannot commit diablerie' on each vampire. There are also several new vamps for each existing clan, including Giovanni and Ravnos. A few that I remember... One lets you take an action to search your library for an Elder Library, Arcane Library, or Book of Nod. Yet another Tremere with +1 stealth to all actions. One, the 'advocate of Golconda', does 4 damage to the opposing vamp if burned in combat. The cards were cool. None appeared useless or broken, although time will tell. A theme among the Assamites (or was it the Settites?) is contract killing... picking a vamp, then attacking him. This could make a cool 'hitman' deck if you have the Succubus Club... Quietus seems to be combat. This could make the Settites a hot clan; sneak, bleed, and fight all in one. Serpentis combat-heavy too... Venomous Blood does 1/2 ranged aggro damage, only at range. Tongue of the Serpent steals 1/2 blood at short. Another, called 'Protected Heart' or something like that (the pic is someone removing his heart from a gaping wound... ick!), is an action that turns all future aggro damage to normal. Costs a lot of blood tho. A dom bleed card call 'Harbinger of Doom'... basic is +1 bleed, superior is +3 bleed if the prey had less than 10 pool! Many more I forgot. All in all, good set.

Think about it a bit more: If you have a vamp w/ fame, your prey is going to go all out to burn him/her. But w/ AoG, then at least if you do manage to get burned, the vampire that does it is going to get hurt big time. Kind of a durned if you do, durned if you don't kinda thing. Another slant at it is this: I have a vamp with fame on it, someone has the AoG. If I Haven Uncovered it, and attack and burn it, they lose a minion AND my famed vampire goes to torpor. This, of course, isn't the kind of combo you can put into your own deck unless you like Malkavian Time Auctions... :) "I can send and receive e-mail even over the Internet"-aol commercial @#$@#$@#$@#$@#$@#$@#$@#$@#$@#$@#$@#$@#$@#$@#$@#$@#$@#$@#$@#$@#$@#$@#$ # Adrian Sullivan sull...@cslab.uwlax.edu Spoutingly yours 8^) # $ GAT/CS/O/WS R+++* tv&--- b++(+++)&+ t X++&-- 5->? e+*>++++ PS+&-+ @ # PE&++&- C(+++)$ UX+>+++$ N++(+) K+>++++ w---$>?
