Isn´t "Wake" a better card than "Forced" always? Or am I missing something? Wake with Evening's Freshness Do not replace until your next untap phase. Only usable by a tapped vampire. This reacting vampire can play reaction cards and attempt to block as though untapped until the current action is concluded. Forced Awakening Only usable by a tapped vampire. This reacting vampire can attempt to block and play reaction cards as though untapped. If he or she does not successfully block this action, he or she burns an additional blood. I have a ton of "Wake" and only 2 of "Forced" so which should I include? Thx in advance... PS Or is it so that I can only play one "Wake" but several "Forced? (Until my next untap phase) And if so could I play "Wake" first and then "Forced"? DS

Wake with Evening's Freshness's major downside is that you do not replace it until your next untap phase. If you play it, you don't cycle into a new card. It reduces your hand size all the way until your next turn, in a game where cardflow is really important. When you play Forced Awakening, you get to draw a replacement immediately. That can be hugely important. If you fail to block (or choose not to block), then you burn a blood, so Forced Awakening is generally better when you have some intercept. But sometimes, you can play Forced Awakening and immediately replace it with that Deflection that's going to save you. So you'll sacrifice the extra blood to stay alive. It is usually a good idea to mix up the types of "Wake Cards" in your deck, due to some being situationally better than others; also just in case someone plays Direct Intervention on your first Wake (i.e. WWEF), you can play a different one (like FA). Also, WWEF and FA are also just 2 of many "Wake Effect" cards.. On the Qui Vive, Eyes of Argus, etc.. And there are also the slightly-different "Untap as a reaction" cards like Guard Dogs, 2nd Tradition, Black Sunrise,... Just be careful to read the card text of each card to see what its restrictions are (such as forcing you to attempt to block, or no-replace, or once-per-turn, etc etc).

Yeah I have mostly old Jyhad cards but I am checking the errata (clarifications etc). I´m a total newbie to this great game though. Thx to you all. :-)

Here (http://www.vekn.net/index.php/player-registry?country=SE&sort=constructed) you can find the list of vekn-subscribed vtes-players. I bet they you will find them willing to provide you with some On te Qui vive and other wake-like cards. Also, I like to have a few different type of wake-cards in my deck. The choice depends on the type of the deck and metagame and the draw-back of the given reaction card. On the Qui vive: only one per minion between his/her two untap phases, but usable by an ally. Wake with evening's freshness: the 'do not replace' clause can be annoying Forced Awakening: less useful if you plan to stealth-bump a bleed to deflect it afterwards Eluding the Arms of Morpheus: in most cases this will leave you untapped if the block attempt did not succeed.

I live far up north in Sweden. I also have: 1 "Pack Tactics", 1 "Guard Dogs", and a couple of "Rat´s Warning" and "Cats´Guidance". Hence I´m planning an "Animalism" based deck. :-)

Yeah, I most likely misread the quoted WWeF text.

For me, it depends on the type of deck I'm using. For example, I have one Tremere/!Tremere wall deck that usually performs at least decent in our games. The deck is built around intercept, provided by vampires such as Carna and library cards such as Bowl of Convergence, Sport Bike, Enhanced Senses and several +1 intercept cards. Thus, I don't expect to fail blocks very often and the deck includes more Forced Awakening than WwEF:s. In other decks, with smaller chances of successfully blocking, I'd include less Forced Awakenings and more WwEF and OtQv. Lycka till med spelandet, hoppas att vi ses på någon turnering :)

How far up north? I live in Malmö and have far more Wakes and Fakes than I could possibly need. I also have too much other common cards (including Pack Tacktics, Guard Dogs, Rat's Warning and Cats' Guidance). I would be happy to send you some. Also, if you give me an idea of what you like/would like to play, I could send you some other common cards and vampires.
