Hello,
I recently re-read the rulebook, and the rulings, and found this:

The rulebook doesn't define Strike: Combat ends (nor Dodge) as "ranged" strikes:

Unless the strike is identified as ranged or does "R" damage (or is a defensive strike such as dodge or combat ends), it is only effective at close range. Ranged strikes and strikes that do "R" damage can be used at any range, close or long.
This brings us to two questions:
a/ Arianne is in combat with someone. The second round is at long range. Arianne uses her innate strike. Does the opponent take damage after combat?
b/ Arianne is in combat with someone. The second round is at close range, and Immortal Grapple is played. Can Arianne use her built-in damage-dealing strike?
Thanks,
Pascal

Arianne, The Conqueror
Cardtype: Vampire
Clan: Toreador antitribu
Group: 5
Capacity: 7
Discipline: aus CEL DOM PRE
Sabbat: On any round after the first, Arianne may strike to end combat and inflict 1 damage on the opposing minion after combat ends.
Immortal Grapple
Cardtype: Combat
Discipline: Potence
Only usable at close range before strikes are chosen. Grapple.
[pot] Strikes that are not hand strikes may not be used this round (by either combatant). A vampire may play only one Immortal Grapple each round.
[POT] As above, with an optional press. If another round of combat occurs, that round is at close range; skip the determine range step for that round.
