JYHAD: MVH question

First off, let's state once again my opinion that the Muddled Vampire Hunter is an awesome card (possibly the Jyhad equivalent of a Prodigal Sorceror)... also, he makes cards like Cryptic Mission well worth sticking in your deck in case someone else plays him :) But a question on just how awesome this man is... the card says "Hunter always strikes with first strike..." Does this only apply to his 4 hand damage smash, or could you say, equip him with a stake and use that as the strike, and if so would it do 1 or 5 damage? I'd think 1 since it would be in lieu of the normal pound - but just put a lucky blow or two in the deck and you'd have one instantly paralyzed vampire. And to have a flamethrower with First strike... brr...

If you equip him with a weapon, then he uses that weapon at first strike. His 4 damage can only be used with a weapon if that weapon adds onto a minion's normal hand damage, which Stake does not... it's a flat 1 damage.
