Tatiana Stepanova, Alastor
Clan: Ravnos (group 4)
Capacity: 7
Disciplines: CHI PRE ani for obf
Camarilla: You and Tatiana may play cards that require Brujah or
Gangrel as if Tatiana were a member of the required clan.
Brujah Justicar
Type: Political Action
Title.
In this referendum, each ready Brujah gets 1 additional vote. Choose a
ready Brujah. If this referendum passes, put this card on the chosen
Brujah to represent the unique Camarilla title of Brujah Justicar.
This could lead to a contested title.
Can Tatiana call the Brujah Justicar vote to make her the Brujah
Justicar?

Can't see why. Playing this card does not require a Brujah. Anyone
can play it. If all your vampires are Sabbat Lasombra, one of them
can still play the card. Perhaps there must be a legal target
somewhere on the table, perhaps controlled by some other methuselah.
But I do not think "Requires a Brujah" is meant to include the
requirement of a legal target.

No. Brujah Justicar does not require a Brujah.

However, can she be the target? You're playing the card as if you had
a Brujah, fair enough. But she is not a Brujah, and she's not playing
the card as a Brujah.
Although, this does beg the question - If she calls the referendum,
does she follow the Mata Hari concept of being a Brujah for the
duration, in which case she can target herself?

No. She's not a Brujah.

She is not playing a card that requires a Brujah. Therefore, she
cannot play it as if she were a Brujah.

Right.

If "Brujah Justicar" were a card that required a Brujah, then her
special might kick in, in which case the application of the "Mata Hari
concept" might be an issue. But it does not require a Brujah, so her
special does not apply at all.

Correct.

Of course.
I re-read her special and didn't realise she can choose who she's
playing them as, unless they require Brujah/Gangrel. In short, her
special (acting as a Brujah/Gangrel) can't be used because the card
doesn't require it.
I swear XZealot comes up with these just to try & pickle my brain
slowly. :)

And Mata Hari can not be the Toreador Justicar, becuase terms are set
before you can play Scorn of Adonis.

Doesn't matter. When she plays Scorn of Adonis as a Toreador, only
Scorn of Adonis sees her as a Toreador. All other cards see her as what
she really is.
Using a "play as a..." special never allows other cards to see you as
the pretend clan or sect.

But can Tatiana call Brujah Justicar if there are no Brujah in-play, e.g.
no available target?

But, suppose Tatiana wanted to Ritual Challenge instead. Since she's
acting as a Gangrel, she can keep the RC on her since it doesn't
require a Gangrel while in play. Correct?
Ritual Challenge
Gangrel
+1 stealth action. If this action succeeds, put this card on the
acting Gangrel. The vampire gets +1 strength each combat. A vampire
may have only one Ritual Challenge card. (from monger)

It's "This vampire gets", BTW.
