Well, I was looking of advanced vampires and was thinking what vampires are really worth of merging. Below are some comments that are based to my experience or beliefs. -Antero 1.Ramona She is small, and can be used to move blood to and fro, so she can be merged (but I would not waste Master slots to Gifts of Experience when both of her versions are in a crypt). 2.Tusk, The Talebearer A sad minion. Never worth playing :( 3.Alfred Benezri A merged ability give quite good voting potential on a merged vampire. Worth of merging (at least in a Storyline). 4.Quentin King III His special helps older vampires come out faster, but as it is, the 4 transfers and one pool to merge him could be used to put 4 blood to, say, Fleurdumal. Merged Q.K.III could do some princely dodge/additional strike/Coma/Amaranth tricks though. 5.Jeremy MacNeil One of the two vampires that can be Anarchs w/o action or master card. I have not tried to play him as anarch yet, but will do so if I have time... 6.Lucita With all the Ministries flying aroud soon, it could be beneficial to merge her, to save her from humiliation as some Wah-Young Chen (agh. Wah Chun-Yuen it was) gets +3 intercept against her... 7.Lazarus Too big, I think. 8.Tegyrius, Vizier Definitely worth of merging. Assmaite Justicar...I would not have believed this before CE... 9.Lambach Old version is better and has better picture. No merge to him... 10.Marcus Vitel Same comments as to Lambach. 11.Sela The new version looks 20 years older (responsibility gives grey hair?) and merging does not give any essential benefits to her. 12.Sebastian Goulet Woo-hoo. War Ghouls, Shambling Hordes and Abyssal Hunters look after his pasty white posterior? Merge him and take the nuisances to you! Wonderful merged ability. 13.Yong-Sun, Harmonist The newer player stock seems to be greatly irritated that his non-advanced version was not in a !Nosferatu starter. I cetainly do know why, cos merged Young-Sung with Rutor's Hand is quite sick. 14.Jessica Both of her versions work just fine by themselves, I think. 15.Goratrix Dunno. I would either play normal or advanced, but as the merging changes his sect, it could give some problems in deckbuilding. 16.Dominique Look Comments about Mr. MacNeil. Besides, her picture is nice. Bonus question: how is Szechenyi Jolan spelled? I would not want to refer her only as "Mother of Horrors" when I play her...

No merge to him... well, I've been playing with a Lambach[[] with the eye of Hazimel deck... it's more the abilities of each version that makes it worth it than the merged ability (be able to fetch the eye and +1 strength + burn a blood to make the damage aggravated) not tournament material I admit (too fragile... decks that rely on one vamp... no to mention a merged vampire with a specific equipment... to do most of the work usually are) but much fun in casual games.

my own comment of the 3 adv that I tryed: > 1.Ramona > She is small, and can be used to move blood to and fro, so she can be > merged (but I would not waste Master slots to Gifts of Experience when > both of her versions are in a crypt). A friend of me did a gang deck with her and her adv. and the gangrel anti of 8 which can give blood to uncontrol.... it was amazing > 5.Jeremy MacNeil > One of the two vampires that can be Anarchs w/o action or master card. > I have not tried to play him as anarch yet, but will do so if I have > time... really good in an anarch dech with the multi skill cards > 7.Lazarus > Too big, I think. but fun.... You just cry when he is burn by a protect thin own....and someone did this to me !!! > 8.Tegyrius, Vizier > Definitely worth of merging. Assmaite Justicar...I would not have > believed this before CE... I tryed it , but i still want to see a good winning deck with assamite! The deck that I tryed suck If you have good decks with him please post them

Advanced vampires have a great bonus: you can put them in your crypt with their basic version and you don't have to worry about getting 2 copies of the vampire in your crypt. It's often just a safe way of doubling up on vampires. Jessica merged kicks ass btw. -Bram Vink

I would argue that smaller vampires are better to Gift of Experience because then they're not out of commission for a turn after you tap them in your master phase. And since Ramona is one of the better merged vampires GIft of Experience is ideal for her.

I really like merged Ramona. But then I really like Ramona. And Advanced Ramona. I use both in my all Protean Gangrel bleed deck, and I'm always happy to get them merged. > > 2.Tusk, The Talebearer > A sad minion. Never worth playing :( As much as I badmouth poor Tusk, like the next guy, I'm currently playing a weenie presence bleed/Nosferatu OBF overlords deck that uses Tusk and Advanced Tusk--the crypt is all 1/2/3's with pre and then Agripina, Grendel, Tusk, and Advanced Tusk. I only need the OBF, so his lack of disciplines isn't an issue, I use lots of Nosferatu cards (Kindred Intel; Patagia), so it is good to have the Nosferatu, and the merged combo of the two of them is actually pretty good--getting to see your next card is a surprisingly useful ability, and getting to burn off uneeded obf cards (like extra disguised weapons)is handy. Tusk isn't, like, super cool or anything, but Tusk and Merged Tusk together make a pretty good combo. the nuisances to you! > 13.Yong-Sun, Harmonist > The newer player stock seems to be greatly irritated that his > non-advanced version was not in a !Nosferatu starter. I cetainly do > know why, cos merged Young-Sung with Rutor's Hand is quite sick. I'm irritated that his non advanced version was not in the !Nosferatu starter--I wanted to build a deck with 6 regular/3 advanced Yong Sun, but I only own 3 original Yong Suns. And now that he has an advanced version but no reprinted original version, it is going to be hell trying to get originals. -Peter

I usually keep no decklists, but the last Teg Deck had AUS/CEL/FOR intercept/combat, with some P/J actions/reactions/votes, and token princes Volker and Rake. It did OK, but I assume that if *really good and competitive* Tegyrius decks exist, it could be found from The Path of Blood (www.thepathofblood.com). -Antero

Rake? What is Tegyrius doing hanging around with that little twit? He's much better off in the company of Ira Rivers (AUS/CEL instead of aus/cel for 1 extra pool). He could also enjoy the company of Madame Guil, if one is feeling spendy. Maybe I'll make that deck. It'll be a good foil for Colin's Aziz + Assamite Barons deck. Matt Morgan

Really. Really glad. Free the misprint three! ;-) Thanks Scott, and White Wolf, for doing this. Can you comment on the situation at all, or are you not allowed to? Was the printer obliged to "fix" their mistakes, or is that not exactly what happened? Josh and advanced hannibal too! yay!

WW is printing these as promos in the "extra" slots of some of the precons that are about to be reprinted anyhow (the slots that are routinely used for promos and the like). Once each action Quentin can burn 1 blood for +1 bleed. His special only works on ready older vamps. So when you have Fleurdumal and QKmerged you put a Blood Doll on Fleurdumal and you're rollin. I built the deck you mentioned above, works pretty well, Archons, dodge/add/coma/amaranth, some DEM bleed. Oscar Garza Prince of College Station, Tx The Crazy Aggie

These promos will be distributed in the usual manner (at tournaments and conventions) and arrangements are being made to implement an exchange program via postal mail (and SASE). Details on the exchage program will be given when the exchange program is implemented." Why an exchange program? i can see promos being sensible, but redemption program? cost a lot of personpower to fix something you never really promised to the players anyway....? I guess the effort won't really be worth it for most people (Because of the SSAE requirement), so perhaps it won't really chew up any significant peoplepower at all... salem domain:canberra http://www.geocities.com/salem_christ.geo/vtes.htm

Don't speak for me, I want my advanced Hannibal and basic Yong Sun. :-P Maybe I'll have a cold the next time promos are being handed out. I may have a gig. Or a rehearsal. The last time I attended a tournament and got promo cards, I had to travel 170 kilometers for it, because I couldn't attend my home town's tournament. I like to support the tournament of other cities. that way they are encouraged to come and support my tournaments. > Don't slam White Wolf for being *nice* to us, for Cthulhu's sake! I wasn't slamming them, i was just curious. They have a limited number of volunteer staff who have a limited amount of time to spend on vtes related stuff. I'd rather see more effort into getting prerelease packages to princes on time than have them spend time stuffing envelopes. If they can do both, though, great! [ quoted text not captured ]
