Petaniqua and Weather Control

Petaniqua (basic) is in a combat with some other vampire in which Weather Control has been played. That combat goes to the second round, by which time Pettie's opponent has no blood. 1) In what order do WC and Pettie's special resolve? 2) If Pettie's special resolves first, does she still have to take the damage from WC? Never really having understood the WC clarifications, I'm not even going to attempt to guess the answers to these questions. Relevant card texts: Petaniqua During any round of combat after the first, a minion opposing Petaniqua takes 2 points of damage before range is determined. Weather Control Both combatants and each of their retainers take 1 unpreventable damage before range is determined each round. John Eno

Wouldn't it depend on which order the active Methuselah wants to order them in? I'd imagine no - the combat's ended - but I can't say 100% for sure. - D.J.

[ quoted text not captured ] I'm not sure it still applies, but I found that: http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/msg/b0195c1f6a633649 which would mean that, however the combat ends in the before range step, any stuff that should still be done in there must be done. There's probably a weird timing (and a lot of possible questions involving Flesh of Marble). I'd say, when a minion goes to torpor in the before range step (or is burned or sent to uncontrolled or removed from the game) 1- Resolve any underlying "during the before range step" effects and end the "before range" step. Prevention and non-prevention cards that are usually played in there could probably be played. See threads about Outside the Hourglass and WC for more fun ! 2- Skip to end of round. 3- End of combat.

(Having snipped out my incorrect guessing...) Does this mean that if it's Petaniqua that's on zero blood, and the WC sends her to torpor, her opponent still takes the 2 damage? - D.J.
