Hi all,
During a game yesterday, someone had Eternal Vigilance on Lazverinus and
Lazverinus used the EV to untap and block and action. The combat went on and
the acting minion played the Obtenebration Strike:Combat Ends Continue the action card.
Can Lazverinus use the Eternal Vigilance again to untap and block again?
The card text doesn't explicitly state that the EV can only be used once per
action and since it isn't a reaction card, it doesn't fall under the rule of
only being able to use it once per action.
So can a vampire Eternally Vigilate more than once during the same action?
Card Text:
Eternal Vigilance
Card Type: Action
Cost: 1 Blood
Requires a ready Archbishop, Priscus, or Cardinal. +1 stealth.
Put this card on the acting vampire. During an action, the Sabbat vampire with
this card can pay a blood to untap and attempt to block. Burn this card if this
Sabbat vampire goes to torpor.
Thanks!

No. It uses the "During <X>, do <Y>" template, which limits it to once per action.
Since this is the same action, he cannot untap again with EV.

Does that include playing Majesty in a combat and untapping afterwards etc
as well then? Because doesn't that fit the template you describe too?

One copy of the "During <X>, do Y" text allows you to do <X> once during
any given instance of Y.
If you have more than one card to play, or more than one card to use,
each one of those can count separately.
However, I am at a loss understanding where Majesty comes in. Its card
text is not of the form "During <X>, do <Y>."

Hey, as long as we're talking Majesty...
If the acting vampire plays Majesty, can the blocking
vampire also use Majesty at superior to untap?
6.4.5 of Sabbat War:
Combat Ends
...This effect ends combat immediately.
...and ends combat before other strikes can be resolved...

Yes, the opposing minion always gets to strike as well (even with potence
crads etc) it's just that combat ends before damage is dealt.
they resolve simultaneously, i believe

sorry but i just wonder :
if lazve untaps and fails to block : he is untapped and since the
shadow body don't give any stealth : is there another block
opportunity and if yes can he block again ?
thanks !

How does he fail to block if there's no stealth? And how is Shadow Body
played if he failed to block and there's no combat?

Irrelevant.
It must *say* "During <X>, do <Y>"

Of course ! you can react and attempt to block until the action is
concluded. So if you wake/force to block and the opponent plays sup shadow
body to continue the action, just tell him you're still blocking.
hey!!
Now i'm confused with how to resolve a S:CE strike!!
can mr LSJ do a full explanation

so ?
blocking minion can or cannot use a strike side effect as untaping with
magesty

I don't see what's confusing about LSJ's answer.
Combat ends resolves before any OTHER strike. That means simultaneous with
other combat end strikes. The side effects of both cards (eg untapping,
getting 1 damage,..) also resolve simultaneously.
