If you do not wish to play a strike card (or use a weapon) than you must strike with hands. Note that this applies regardless of the range of combat. If you have no other options, you must use your inherent (hand) strike - usually for one point of damage (or zero, if at long range). Note that you can choose a strike that has no effect (such as 'hands' at long range, or 'strike: destroy weapon' when your opponent has no weapons). -- L.
