I was just wondering, because it came up in a game a while ago, but when exactly does the damage from the Spawning Pool resolve - when I tap the card or during strike resolution eg I'm in combat with an opponent, from blocking a bleed I control Ebanezer Roush, my opponent controls Masika (who has 3 blood on him). the first round we exchange hand strikes. I press with Dead End Alley and it's not cancelled. Second round (Masika now on 2 blood) I tap Spawning Pool (with three counters on it). Does the damage resolve now (in which case Masika goes to torpor) or does it wait until strike resolution in which case my opponent can avoid it by striking with Riposte? If Masika did use Riposte, would the Spawning Pool damage resolve outside combat (a la Riposte, Mariel etc.)? -- James Coupe (remove .nospam to reply) Through the darkness of future past, the magician longs to see, one chants out between two worlds, `Fire walk with me`
