Vampire A with 1 blood and fortitude attempts a bleed and is blocked by vampire B with 3 blood and a flamethrower (2R agg, each strike). Methuselah A plays Trap in an attempt to send vamp B to torpor at the end of the combat. A strikes for 1 hand damage, B strike for 2 agg damage. A plays Undead persistence to avoid torpor, but still takes one damage which he heals with blood. B heals his one damage. A now has 0 blood. B has 2. Next round. A takes 2 agg, B takes 1 hand damage. Is A burned (having taken agg damage that he can heal, namely the second point), or is he alright to continue? If A is alright to continue, after the round: A has 0, B has 1. Next round: A has 0, B has 0. Next (and final) round: A has 0, B has 0 and goes to torpor. Is A now burned, or simply goes to torpor? Thanks. L. Scott Johnson

In article <3c4hlk$o...@redwood.cs.scarolina.edu>, [ quoted text not captured ] I asked WotC a Q about this earlier. I believe ruling was that the vampire is burned(mainly b/c undead persistence prevents the vamp from going to torpor, not being burned).

A had 0 blood and took 2 aggravated damage, so is burned outright. A is never sent to torpor, so the Undead Persistence can't save it. I think the original poster meant that A can prevent one damage; in that case, B did only 1 aggravated damage, which has no effect on A (it would only send A to torpor, but A is prevented by Undead Persistence). papillo the cantabile
