I have a question regarding Contested Minions. Scenerio: Player A has a minion equiped with a Sport Bike and with a Thaumaturgy Master Skill card on him, and Player B brings out the same minion contesting this minion. Player A decides that he can't afford to pay the blood price of the contested card so he burns him. Question: Does player be gain control of the minion with the equipment and the skill card, or just the minion? THe way I interpret it, B gets the minion, equip, and skill. Second Scenerio (actually this has nothing to do with contested cards): Player A and player B each has 1 untapped Vampire. Player A uses Wynn to attack player B's minion as a directed action. Player B chooses not to block. Combat ensues, and both Vampire do damage. There are no presses so the combat ends. Question: Is player B's vampire tapped as a result of this combat? Which brings to mind Third Scenerio: Player A has 2 untapped Vampires (Wynn and Duck) Player B has 2 untapped Vampires (Didi and Brazil) Player A uses Wynn to attack player B's minion (Brazil) as a directed action. Player B chooses not to block. Player A uses Mask of a 1,000 faces and suddenly declares that it was really Duck who was making the attack. Question: Is this legal? Normally Duck can't take this action only Wynn can. Thanks, Brian

No. In the rules, the ways that minions are tapped are: (1) attempting to perform an action (2) successfully blocking (3) card effects None of the above cover this situation, so player B's vampire is not tapped. If player B for some reason wanted to tap that vampire, he could if he could successfully block the action of player A's vampire. Combat would still occur, of course. (There are limited cases where this might be advantageous.) >Which brings to mind Third Scenerio: >Player A has 2 untapped Vampires (Wynn and Duck) >Player B has 2 untapped Vampires (Didi and Brazil) >Player A uses Wynn to attack player B's minion (Brazil) as a directed action. >Player B chooses not to block. >Player A uses Mask of a 1,000 faces and suddenly declares that it was really >Duck who was making the attack. >Question: >Is this legal? Normally Duck can't take this action only Wynn can. Sure. Mask of 1000 faces says nothing about whether the minion replacing the previously acting minion has to be a minion which could have legally initiated the action in the first place, so don't worry about it. Just read the card. Rollie

It does not simply convert over to the other minion (section 8). >Second Scenerio (actually this has nothing to do with contested cards): >Player A and player B each has 1 untapped Vampire. >Player A uses Wynn to attack player B's minion as a directed action. >Player B chooses not to block. >Combat ensues, and both Vampire do damage. No. Combat doesn't tap a vampire; blocking (or acting) does. >Which brings to mind Third Scenerio: >Player A has 2 untapped Vampires (Wynn and Duck) >Player B has 2 untapped Vampires (Didi and Brazil) >Player A uses Wynn to attack player B's minion (Brazil) as a directed action. >Player B chooses not to block. >Player A uses Mask of a 1,000 faces and suddenly declares that it was really >Duck who was making the attack. >Question: >Is this legal? Normally Duck can't take this action only Wynn can. Can you quote the Mask's text for me? (No, I don't have all the card texts yet...) I think I'll skip even making a guess as to the Mask's text...
