If an Abbot gives a Sabbat vampire "+1 intercept against (D) actions directed at his or her controller" does this include actions directed against anything that the controller controls such as vampires, locations, and equipment. This came up in a game.

[ quoted text not captured ] Nope. Just cards that target player not their cards.

[ quoted text not captured ] Yes. You would get +1 intercept against a Bum's Rush on one of your minions, or on an Arson targetting your Parthenon. Any action that targets a card controlled by a Methuselah also targets that Methuselah. http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/msg/0dbe5666ac64922e

Ok? So why the strange wording? LSJ? Could you give a short explenation. (but a little longer then just: Yes, No or Correct)

(but a little longer then just: Yes, No or Correct) The +1 intercept wouldn't apply to (D) actions that are targetting another player, but you're blocking via Eagle/Falcon Eye. Brent Ross

Not trying to nitpick or anything, but if that was is indeed the reason the (D) action part might as well not be there. Or there must be undirected actions that target a Methusalah that I'm unaware of.

Juggernaut1981

[ quoted text not captured ] Any action which targets something controlled by another player is a (D) action. LSJ has said so before. There is a hierarchy of targets. Methuselah is at the top and if you target anything "lower" you are also targeting the Methuselah. If you target a Retainer/Equipment, you target the Methuselah (but not necessarily the Minion with the Retainer). If you target a Location, you target the Methuselah (but not a Minion, Retainer etc. e.g. Burning Secure Haven) If you target a Player's Pool, you target the Methuselah. If you call a Political Action, you take an undirected action that will affect other Methuselahs. e.g. KRC is not directed but it affects Methuselahs.

[ quoted text not captured ] Political Actions sometimes will only affect one methuselah. If the card didn't include the (D) part, then people would be on this news group asking if the Abbot will give them intercept against those Political Actions, instead. -- salem (replace 'hotmail' with 'gmail' to email)
