does the wording (vampires do not get stealth when hunting) mean that any vampire that hunts has 0 stealth which cannot be increased, or that the vampire does not get the usual +1 stealth inherent in the "hunt" action? btw - timing issue: i'm playing a gangrel combat deck, which isn't doing so well. i need to torporize a vampire, but i have no wolf claws in hand, or any presses (this deck sucks, eh?). i do a hand strike. i play skin of steel. i pick up a wolf claws. can i now play wolf claws, and will it make the damage i did with my hand stike aggravated? strikes have been declared, and damage resolution has begun, since the "prevent damage" phase has begun, but the "heal damage" phase has not. laorch (ben o'leary) -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own

You cannot play damage modifiers after strike resolution has begun. -- LSJ (vte...@wizards.com) VTES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. I don't know if it's true, but according to James Hamblin's FAQ site, http://www.math.wisc.edu/~hamblin/faq.html: "You may play Wolf Claws (or Claws of the Dead, etc.) to make your hand damage aggravated any time before that strike resolves. So you can play it at the beginning of a round, as you declare the strike, or between the declaration of (both) strikes and the resolution of those strikes. In other words, you can wait to see what your opponent plays for her strike before deciding whether to play Wolf Claws." He does not cite any authority for this clarification, so take it for what it's worth.... According to this passage, it looks like in your example that you would be too late once you start preventing some damage.
