Word from WOTC is that yes indeed they will be doing a Jyhad
expansion set, they have the liscening to do one. However, looks like it
will be a strictly JYHAD set, as in the vvampiric Jyhad as set forth in
V:tM. I think it would be interesting to see games based on Mage,
Werewolf, etc. but I am far more interested in a Jyhad expansion set with
more vehicles, weapons, locations, vampires, and other fun bidness.
IMHO, I think a Sabbat theme would be best, but who knows what WOTC will
cook up. :)

Rage is *not* a deckmaster game. It is being put out solely by White
Wolf, and will be an independant product. See the March issue of
Advance Comics for the ad.

It's being produced entirely by White Wolf, so it isn't a Deckmaster game.

So this means what exactly? That Jyhad is NOT being shelved for
a more marketable lucrative product? That Jyhad will be supported and
our cards will continue to have value? That we will be able to play the
game and collect cards for years to come? If this is the case, then I am
a happy vampire... If not, my objection still stands...

This means that everyone who did get in the game when it first came out
is totally screwed!
They are dropping the Jyhad name over some religous bullshit about Holy Wars.
What a bunch of fucking sissys.
I have over $2000 invested in Jyhad, and I feel like I just got punched
in the mouth. Thanks alot, assholes!
Hope WoTc chokes big time on this move; they lost me as a customer, a
retailer, and a (previous) major supporter!
We have already lost over 30 customers who spent money daily here at our
store.
I will have Jyhad product in stock for some time... no ones buying!
Extremely pissed off!

Okay Tom, but when will we see it. And what about this new bidness about
Vampire: The Eternal Struggle and the card backs? We have no definitive
answer yet.

While support for "Jyhad" will continue, it will be rereleased under the
name "Vampire: the Eternal Struggle". There are several reasons for doing
this, and the question of people being offended by the word Jyhad is only
one of them. It is not yet decided whether the card backs will or won't
change for Vampire, and thus whether they will be "incompatible" with
Jyhad cards. Note that unless you're in a tournament, they're only as
incompatible as your play group wants them to be...

They are as incompatible as marked cards.

Exsqueeeeeze me? Only as incompatible as your play group wants them to be?
There are certain standards of play that go with the game. One is that you
don't play with marked cards. In theory, if I were playing a library with
some cards that had a Jyhad back, and some that had a Vampire back, I could
have the cards marked 4 different ways (Jyhad and Vampire, right-side up
and upside-down). THAT is too big of an advantage to ignore. If there are
any play groups out there that would let me play with a mixed library, let
me know. I'm sure that they'd also let me make black and white photocopies
on cheap cardstock and play with them (Gee, think of the money we'd save;
never have to buy any more cards from WotC.) Point is, there isn't a group
that's that leinent. DON'T CHANGE THE CARD BACKS ON THE LIBRARY CARDS.
