Subject: "WotC Info: 1996 Releases" While there are no official press releases at this time, we just shared quite a bit of information with the visitors who showed up at our in-house two-day planning session. THERE ARE NO OFFICIAL RELEASE DATES FOR ANY OF THESE PRODUCTS AT THIS TIME. The Magic/Ice Age expansion is named Alliances. It will be a larger set than Homelands, containing more than 140 different cards. There is another stand-alone, codenamed Sosumi, planned for 1996. It will have rules additions like Ice Age had. More than 300 cards are planned. By the time it is released, we'll have been developing parts of it for more than three years. Magic will begin releasing quick-start gift boxes which will contain two of forty pre-constructed decks and a larger, easier to understand rulebook. Netrunner is due out early second quarter. There is an online contest planned to promote it, and it will be previewed at the GAMA trade show. At least one Netrunner expansion will also appear in 1996. VTES will release several products. Darkness Unveiled is a player's guide to the game, but you've probably already heard about that one. The newer announcements were Ancient Hearts, which is an expansion concerning the Middle East and Mediterranean. It will include Assamites and the Followers of Set, and add powers and rules based on these clans. The big one was The Sabbat. I'll just let that one sink in for a while :^) Finally, the Duelist Magazine staff announced that, conditions permitting, it may go monthly in the summer of 1996. Duelist #9 has a Netrunner preview, #10 centers on VTES, and #11 will focus on Alliances. There you have it. Remember, ALL RELEASE DATES ANNOUNCED WERE TENTATIVE. So tentative, in fact, that I won't even tell you what was said. :^) This does NOT include non-Deckmaster releases. That information is not being announced publicly at this time. We will be developing and marketing new products in 1996, though. So spread the word.
