A newbie brought it to my attention the possibility that a Bum's Rush that is blocked, ends the action, and hence the 'Do not replace until end of action' may expire and a replacement can be drawn before combat begins. This isn't how we've played it, in times past, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's been played correctly. I checked the FAQ and the rules, and neither seems particularly clear. Morgan Vening

Actions don't end until any resulting combat is resolved--combat from blocking is part of a given action sequence. When the fight is over, then the action is over. I'm not entierly sure what happens if someone Bum's Rushes someone, they block, there is a fight, and at the end of the fight someone plays Psyche!, but that is another question all together. It is very well possible that even though the action is blocked, it might continue via Form of Mist, Shadow Body, Toreador's Bane, or Flow Within the Mountain. Halcyan 2

All combats are part of some action. There are no action-free combats. The Psyche! combat is part of the Bum's Rush action in your example. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Siren's Lure, Slave combat... They happen outside of an action...

[ quoted text not captured ] no they are all part of an action. there is not a single combat which is not triggered by an action. this is why you can play action modifiers like Freak drive even after a Fast reaction combat ;)

Fast Reaction combat is still part of the original action that was blocked. Slave combat is part of the action that got blocked, and the Slave tagged into. I'm not sure what Siren's Lure does, but I suspect that it is a similar deal. [ quoted text not captured ]

I'm not sure what Siren's Lure does, but I suspect >that it is a similar deal. yup. they are all inside an action, it's just that they may not necessarily be combats between the acting minion and any blocking minion. Siren's Lure is kinda elder impersonation and hidden lurker in one. (Siren's Lure: [snip cel effect] [mel] Only usable by an untapped ready vampire other than the acting minion when a minion attempts to block. That minion cannot block this action. Tap this vampire and that minion. Once the action resolves, this vampire enters combat with that minion. [MEL] As [mel] above, but do not tap this modifying vampire.) salem domain:canberra http://www.geocities.com/salem_christ.geo/vtes.htm (replace "hotmail" with "yahoo" to email) "I like to play the field"-LSJ
