I had a couple of questions on the wording of these two cards.
Madness Network- this card allows any untaped Malkavian to take an action
after a Meth has completed her/his actions for the turn. This would mean
that the Malk actions occur in between the Minion & influence phases of
the current Meth. Does this mean that the if the Malk were to bleed the
Meth who's turn is being interrupted that the Meth could not play reaction
cards? Or can s/he play reaction cards because her minions aren't
acting. The rules clearly state that reaction cards cannot be played on
your own turn, and can only be played as a result of another Meth's
actions. But, the rules also state that you can only take actions on your
turn. Furthermore, the rules state that the text on the cards override
the normal rules. Could it be argued that the Meth can react to the bleed
from the Malk because the Madness Network itself overrides the rules of
when a minion can act, and that reaction cards are played in response to
actions? Or is the Meth just out of luck?
Undead Persistance- This card allows a vamp to stay in combat when it is
supposed to go to torpor, for three rounds without a card being played, or
until the combat ends. There is also an optional press provided by the
cars. My question is whether the otional press is provided each round
(like a Trap) or whether the Persiting vamp would have to supply it's own
presses after the first round. (I know that the vamp would have to provide
additional presses in each round if a press to end was played by the other
vamp, my question is just about the subsequent rounds.)
Thanks

1.) Reaction cards cannot be played by the acting Meth.

Is the Malk "officially" prohibited from playing action modifiers, too?

Unfortunately, I think the Malk can use action mods. Nowhere in the
action modifier card rules does it say only usable during your own turn.
The closest it comes is to say that action mods can only be used to modify
your minions actions. So a Madness Networked malk can pump the stealth
and bleed all it wants, and the Meth whoose thurn is interrupted can't do
anything that involves a reaction card.
Another member of my group got the same Madness Network ruling from the
AOL Jyhad rep. So as it stands, if you don't want to get bled by a Mad
Malk, burn the Madness Network!

Peace Curt,
Yes, "officially" it isn't their turn, therefore the Malk may not use
Actions/Action Mods. Obviously, this is terrribly flawed. Around these
parts, we play that the minion is "acting" and therefore may play Actions/
Action Mods and that other minions are "reacting" and therefore may play
Reaction cards.

Supply your own after the first one (supplied by Undead Persistence).

Hmmm... Flawed as this ruling is, I don't read the rules the same way you
do. Reactions may not be played during your turn, and DT says that
Madness Network takes place during your turn therefore no reactions.
Action Modifiers can only be played _when you are taking an action_
however, so I see no reaso why a Mad Networked Malkavian taking an action
would not be allowed to play ActMods...
(Unless there is something on the Madness Network itself that states that
this action is not a real action, or some such - do not own a copy of
this one...)

There is no wording of this sort on the card. So I believe that the
strict interpretation would allow Action Mods, but no reactions. (Darn the
luck)

No Action mods aren't lmited except to the acting vampire.

We have a house rule that players can play reaction cards when a Malkavian
takes an action out of it's Methusalah's turn. That balances the card somewhat
(it's still useful: you can use all 'unspent' Malkavians at the end of you
predator's turns) and makes more sense.
If you don't like the official rules, change them!
After all, it's you and your group who are playing the game and if you
think you can improve on it, try it and do it.

Action Mods can be used any time, played by the acting Minion. These
cards are (correctly) not limited to one's own turn.
Sorry, but they got this part right.

As we have been playing it, you (having Malks & mad net) can take min acts
at the END of any Meths turn. So we play it just like it's your turn again
because you are currently in a Minion Phase (i.e. it's your minion phase and y
your turn kinda. definately not any other meths turn.
Tell me if this is wrong via offical rulings, but We'll probably keep it this
way unless anyone knows a better way.
