Hi all, I have a question: Can a tapped vampire in combat defend itself? Like for example when it is attacked via Haven Uncovered or a Bum's Rush I had a minor dispute with someone over this question.

Gomi no Sensei

In article <52qiuh$r...@dinkel.civ.utwente.nl>, [ quoted text not captured ] Why, of course it can. Wherever did you get the idea it couldn't? Not Magic by any chance? A vampire's tapped status has no import on its combat ability. After all, the vampire using Bum's Rush or Haven Uncovered is tapped as well, neh? If tapped vampires couldn't fight, Bum's Rush wouldn't be much use. "Camille Bum's Rushes Ozmo. She's tapped now, so I guess I don't get to defend myself. No, I don't press either. Boy, that was fun." gomi -- 'spend a day and a half dead and the lettuce runs amok.' -babs woods

If you don't block a Bum's Rush (and are tapped or not), then combat ensues. Combat never mentions being untapped. Being tapped prior to the start of the action has no bearing on the combat. (Being tapped or untapped never has any bearing on combat, for that matter). -- L.
